Tom Schwartz Rates Tom Sandoval’s Performance on The Traitors and Reveals if He’d Compete (Exclusive)

Could Tom Schwartz be the next Vanderpump Rules alum to head to Scotland for The Traitors?

Schwartz, 42, spoke with PEOPLE at the Thursday, April 10 premiere of The Valley season 2 at BLVD Steak in Los Angeles, and shed some light on supporting his former costar Tom Sandoval’s appearance on Peacock’s hit show, The Traitors

Ahead of Schwartz’s conversation with PEOPLE, Sandoval, 42, was one of 23 cast members and 19 faithfuls. The Special Forces star was “murdered” in the penultimate episode, and made it to the top seven.

Schwartz said Sandoval “was maybe blissfully unaware of how unaware he was” at the start of the game. “But one thing about Tom is he commits,” Schwartz continued. “I love his conviction.”

“He was so fun to watch. The whole cast was fun to watch. What a great season,” he added. “That season made me a fan for life.”

As for whether Schwartz will join the series, he confessed to PEOPLE that he doesn’t know. “But how could I say no?” Adding that he’s not sure which role he’d like to have. “My heart says faithful, but my mind says traitor.”

While Schwartz is considering a stint on The Traitors, he’s currently appearing on season 2 of The Valley. He said transitioning from Vanderpump Rules to the spinoff series felt “seamless and organic.”

“It didn’t feel like I was going from one show to another. The cameras have happened to be catching where I was at in my life,” he said. “I’ve known all these people [for] a long time. I have hung out with Jesse [Lally] and Jason [Caperna]. We’ve known each other for a long time.”

“Obviously, Jax [Taylor], Kristen [Doute], Luke [Broderick], I’m pretty much tight with everybody. So it feels very organic.”

“I’m proud of them,” he added, before crediting the cast for “taking off the filter and letting loose” at the start of season 1.

“It’s scary to bare your soul on a TV show. You know what I mean, intimate details of your life,” he added. “It’s really scary in the beginning.”

On this week’s episode, Schwartz called out Jax’s aggressive behavior towards his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright after Jax learned she had hooked up with one of his friends.

The Valley season 2 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo. All seasons of The Traitors are available to stream on Peacock.
