Travis Scott seems to have some words for Pusha T.

The Utopia rapper, 34, released his Jackboys 2 compilation album alongside his Cactus Jack Records collaborators on Sunday, July 13. And in between verses from the likes of Don Toliver, SoFaygo and Sheck Wes, Scott appeared to address Pusha T with some wordplay on track “Champain & Vacay,” following a string of recent public criticisms from Pusha, 48.

“Yeah, man, I swear these old n—– kill me / Know my YNs feel me,” raps Scott, real name Jacques Webster. “They just want the real me, yeah / Blue Bugatti, I’m dodgin’ TMZ / Made a hundred off pushin’ T’s / Now my phone on DND, yeah.”

The apparent remarks for Pusha from Scott come two days after the release of Clipse’s new album Let God Sort Em Out — Pusha’s first LP with his brother Malice since 2009.

While Pusha, real name Terrence Thornton, didn’t directly call out Scott by name on the album, he later shared in multiple interviews why a portion of his raps on single “So Be It” were directed toward the “Sicko Mode” musician.

“You cried in front of me, you died in front of me / Calabasas took your b—- and your pride in front of me,” Pusha raps on the track, which released alongside a music video in June. “Her Utopia had moved right up the street / And her lip gloss was poppin’, she ain’t need you to eat / The ‘net gon’ call it the way that they see it / But I got the video, I can share and A.E. it / They wouldn’t believe it, but I can’t unsee it / Lucky I ain’t TMZ it, so be it, so be it.”

Speaking with GQ about his lyrics on “So Be It,” Pusha acknowledged Scott’s 2023 Utopia track “Meltdown,” which featured a verse from Drake — someone who Pusha had a public exchange of disses with in 2018.

In “Meltdown,” Drake appeared to call out both Pusha and Pharrell and referred to some of Pharrell’s jewelry that he won at auction, rapping that he’d “melt down the chains that I bought from your boss, give a f— about all of that heritage shit.”

As Pusha explained, Scott played the album for him and Pharrell before its release but left out the Drake verse.

“The true context of that is we were in Paris, literally working, and he was calling to play P his new album. He came to [Pharrell’s] studio. He interrupted a session,” Pusha recalled to GQ. “He sees me and Malice there. He’s like, ‘Oh, man, everybody’s here,’ he’s smiling, laughing, jumping around, doing his f—— monkey dance. We weren’t into the music, but he wanted to play it, wanted to film [us listening]. And then a week later you hear ‘Meltdown,’ which he didn’t play. He played the song, but not [Drake’s verse].”

Pusha added that Scott has “no picks, no loyalty to nobody” and claimed he’ll “jump around whatever he feels is hot or cling onto whatever he feels is hot.”

“I personally have been removed from that crew and those people for a minute,” Pusha said of his former affiliation with the Kanye West GOOD Music universe. “So, that’s where my issue comes in — like, dawg, don’t even come over here with that, because at the end of the day, I don’t play how y’all play. To me, that really was just like … he’s a w—-. He’s a w—-.”

Appearing on The New York Times’ Popcast alongside his brother Malice in late June, Pusha elaborated and called Scott’s “corny” decision to play the song without the Drake verse.

“You shouldn’t have been here anyway,” Pusha said. “… Him specifically, too. I don’t take it as personal as I should. It’s Travis. He’s harmless. I’m not into his whole makeup. I just, I took it there.”

As for Scott, his Jackboys 2 project marks the follow-up to Cactus Jack’s 2019 label compilation album Jackboys, and also features input from the likes of Bun B, Future, GloRilla, Playboi Carti and more. His last full-length solo album came in 2023 with the release of Utopia.

“THIS ALBUM IS FOR ALL SEASON,” Scott wrote on X ahead of the Jackboys 2 release. “BUT WAS MADE FOR EVER SUMMER THAT COMES. I CANT F—— WAITTTTTT.”
