- Trump expressed his frustration with the nations on Tuesday morning, telling reporters that Israel and Iran “don’t know what the f— they’re doing.”
- Hours later on Tuesday, Trump claimed that the ceasefire was back on after reportedly speaking with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
President Donald Trump expressed his anger with Iran and Israel on Tuesday, June 24, after both countries reportedly broke the ceasefire he announced on Monday night.
“We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f— they’re doing,” Trump told reporters outside the White House before boarding Marine One en route to the NATO Summit in The Hague.
Trump ordered the bombing of three Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend, seemingly assisting Israel in an act of allyship. However, he expressed his ire at both countries for continuing to bomb each other despite allegedly agreeing to end the war. Both countries have yet to comment on the ceasefire; The New York Times published reports of continued bombing in both Israel and Iran overnight.
“Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and they dropped a load of bombs the likes of which I’ve never seen before. The biggest load that we’ve seen,” Trump, 79, told reporters. “I’m not happy with Israel. When I say, ‘Okay, now you have 12 hours [before the ceasefire begins],’ you don’t go out in the first hour and just drop everything you have on them. So, I’m not happy with them.”
“I’m not happy with Iran either,” he added. “But I’m really unhappy if Israel’s going out this morning.”
The Associated Press reported that Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from Air Force One as he flew to the NATO Summit, and he later posted an update to Truth Social claiming the ceasefire was back on.
“ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly ‘Plane Wave’ to Iran,” Trump wrote. “Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect! Thank you for your attention to this matter! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.”
In all caps, he added, “IRAN WILL NEVER REBUILD THEIR NUCLEAR FACILITIES!”
After the United States’ attack on Iran on Saturday, June 21, Trump addressed the nation from the White House, alongside Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
“Our objective was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat,” he said. “Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success. Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated.”
The ceasefire announcement came just days later, as Trump alleged on Truth Social that Iran and Israel had agreed to a “Complete and Total CEASEFIRE… at which point the War will be considered, ENDED.”
“During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL,” he directed. “He went on to “congratulate” both Israel and Iran for “having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, ‘THE 12 DAY WAR.’ ”

Having once again claimed success in brokering the ceasefire on Tuesday morning, Trump wrote that he was looking forward to the NATO Summit.
“Heading to NATO where, at worst, it will be a much calmer period than what I just went through with Israel and Iran,” he shared on Truth Social. “I look forward to seeing all of my very good European friends, and others. Hopefully, much will be accomplished!”
