President Donald Trump has spent years denying that Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election. Now, even his own AI website has proven him wrong.
On Tuesday, Sept. 29, the White House unveiled America.gov, a website that is meant to be “a secure, intelligent, and service-oriented point of entry through which an individual may sign in, communicate in plain language, receive accurate answers, and, where authorized and technically available, complete Government transactions without being required to navigate the websites of multiple agencies,” according to a new executive order.
The website’s about page states that it was born from an executive order in August 2025 aiming “to make the public’s experience with government more useful, effective, and respectful of their time.”
It is powered by artificial intelligence from Google’s Gemini and Elon Musk’s Grok, U.S. Chief Design Officer Joe Gebbia told CNBC during an interview on launch day.
While the Associated Press reported that the site began modifying its answer as Trump was speaking at the website’s launch event, PEOPLE asked the website in three different ways who won the 2020 election and received a variation of the following answer each time.

“According to official federal records, Joseph R. Biden Jr. won the 2020 presidential election with 306 electoral votes,” the website said. “Donald J. Trump received 232. A majority of 270 was required. I do not add political commentary. For a federal service or program, ask that next.”
The chatbot said it drew the answer from the National Archives and the Federal Election Commission’s (FEC) official results from the 2020 election.
Trump and 18 of his allies were indicted by a 23-member jury in August 2023 for their efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.
After pleading not guilty to all 13 counts, including racketeering (violation of the Georgia RICO Act) and three counts of solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer, the case was dismissed in November 2025.

The president’s unfounded and increasingly incendiary claims about his election loss were later cited by many of those who stormed the U.S. Capitol in January 2021.
Trump was indicted on four criminal counts by a federal grand jury investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot and other efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. In November 2024, both the federal election subversion and mishandling of classified documents cases were dismissed after the Supreme Court ruled that Trump had some presidential immunity from criminal prosecution.

He has also repeatedly and falsely blamed his loss to Biden on voter fraud.
“America.gov will continue to be updated to provide more features, resources, and the most accurate information from the federal government,” a White House official told PEOPLE. “The President and Administration have been clear about issues surrounding the 2020 election, issues that have been documented by John Solomon and the White House Government Transparency Task Force.”
