A well-known dog lover, Lisa has frequently used her platform to advocate for animals of all kinds. In fact, she and her husband Ken Todd opened the Vanderpump Dogs dog rescue center in Los Angeles in 2017, encouraging families to consider adopting a pet rather than buying from a breeder.
“Ken and I have been fighting for more humane treatment of dogs worldwide,” Lisa told E! News at the time, adding that she wanted the shelter to be “like nothing else you’ve ever seen.”
“With this space, we want it to have a… feel-good factor about it,” she continued. “All dogs are equal. It doesn’t mater whether they’re pedigree… so many of these dogs are just waiting for homes.”
Lisa later showcased the facility in the 2021 Peacock docuseries Vanderpump Dogs, where she helped canines in need find the perfect home.
“It’s not just about finding somebody attractive across the bar,” she said in a trailer for the series. “This isn’t a one night stand. This is a lifelong relationship.”
(E! and Peacock are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
