Walton Goggins is enjoying his newly-minted status as a bona fide sex symbol after starring in HBO’s hit show The White Lotus — even if part of his sex appeal is his “receding hairline.”
“Some of my friends have even asked me, ‘Walton, what’s it like to become a sex symbol at 53 years old?’” Goggins quipped in his Saturday Night Live monologue on Saturday, May 10. “If I’m being honest, it feels fantastic! At least it did until I Googled myself and read some of the headlines.”
He added, “‘Are We All Horny for Walton Goggins’ Receding Hairline?’ I’ve had the same hairline since I was 7. It’s not receding, it’s holding its ground.”
Goggins also read aloud news headlines that said, “His Hair Is Greasy, His Eyes Are Bulging [And] I Think I’m in Love” and “Hollywood’s Newest Heartthrob Is a Greasy, Depressing Little Man Whom No One Saw Coming,” respectively.

“Wow, beautiful journalism,” he mused. “Thank you? The part of that headline that offends me is the word ‘whom.’ It just sounds pretentious, but you know what isn’t pretentious? My upbringing.”
Goggins, who was raised by his “mama,” aunts and grandmother in Atlanta, used the remainder of his opening remarks to deliver a sweet Mother’s Day message to his mom.

Goggins closed out his monologue with a sweet mother-son waltz-turned-clog on the SNL stage.
“We’ve got a great show for you tonight,” Goggins added. “Arcade Fire is here [and] Happy Mother’s Day!”
