After Bachelor in Paradise took the summer off, Wells Adams has a clear vision for season 10 — and it includes cast members from The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette dating the (much) younger stars.
“I have pitched this and I think it’s an amazing idea,” Adams, 40, told Us Weekly during an exclusive interview about his partnership with JCPenney. “Everyone come and everyone can date everyone. Hey, look, if you’re not into a cougar, that’s OK. Different strokes for different folks. But there is a world in which some young girl meets a really wealthy, distinguished gentleman — that happens all the time in the real world. And if it’s supposed to be a microcosm of the real world, that could happen there.”
The BiP bartender pointed out that other networks, like TLC, feature relationships with large age gaps all the time.
“There’s a show called MILF Manor. Why couldn’t there be a cougar that takes down a hot young Benson Boone looking dude on the beach? I think that would be the most amazing thing,” he continued. “The only thing is that we need to do it in a place where it wouldn’t be too hot because if you are a bit older, you might melt [in Mexico]. Maybe Palm Springs or Del Boca Vista, a place where it’s already a retirement community and everyone can get around in golf carts. I think it’s got legs.”

Bachelor in Paradise season 9 viewers aren’t the only ones still reeling from breakup-gate. During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Wells Adams and Joe Amabile got real about all three couples calling it quits within days of the finale airing. “I reached out to production being like, ‘When are we doing the after show?’ […]
Adams also pointed out that “so many relationships” within Bachelor Nation “happened that didn’t happen on the beach where they should have” since the show didn’t film last year. He pointed to Victoria Fuller and Greg Grippo as an example.
“Victoria and Greg — I’m annoyed, you don’t do this out in the real world! You do it in Paradise. You guys would’ve broken up in just a couple weeks and it would’ve been dragged out for all of us. So I want all these people who have been in these crazy relationships to come together,” he said before agreeing with Us that Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell should join the cast after their messy split. “Matt needs to come, Rachael needs to come. Victoria needs to come, Greg —everyone needs to come back. I also, obviously, want a lot of these new young [contestants] and fresh blood, but I love it when we have the heavy hitters of Bachelor Nation come back and I want to return to that. I need some more Ashley Is crying and I need Clares talking to freaking raccoons.”
Adams — who married Sarah Hyland in 2022 — has played a critical part on BiP since season 4 and his gig giving advice behind the bar has translated into his real-life.

These Bachelor Nation stars are spreading the love on Valentine’s Day 2024. Bachelor in Paradise bartender Wells Adams shared a sweet tribute to wife Sarah Hyland on Wednesday, February 14, posting a black-and-white clip of the two posing together in a photobooth. “Every day is Valentine’s Day with this one. I love you more than […]
“I do consider myself a romantic, but I was originally this hipster radio guy [and] I never gave advice on relationships, even when I was doing my morning show. Then they make me the bartender on this show and nine seasons later, I’m the person that everyone comes to,” he told Us. “When I’m out and about and people meet me, the first thing they say is, ‘OK, so this is what’s going on in my relationship.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t know if I’m qualified for this.’ I’ve become the de facto relationship guy. It’s funny though because instincts are very, very right all the time.”
Adams has even started giving advice to Hyland’s friends.
“This frustrates Sarah to no end, because her girlfriends will come over and they’ll be like, ‘OK, so this is what’s happening.’ And I’ll be like, ‘OK, so this is what’s going on,’ and I’m not giving them the information that they want, but sometimes I’m giving them the information that they need to hear,” he said.
As a result of his association with relationships, Adams knows he is the right person to work with JCPenny on a Valentine’s Day gift guide.
“When people think about me, they think about people falling in love. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and I wanted to team up with someone who would help me be able to do a green flag gift guide — ’cause I feel like the past couple years have all been about red flags and beige flags, but can we just have some good options and good decisions?” he said. “This green flag guide is stuff you can pick up at JCPenney for Valentine’s Day. It’s a crazy stat, but 6 million people get engaged on Valentine’s Day, which seems a little on the nose, but you do you! And if you are gonna get engaged, I didn’t realize that JCPenney had this amazing jewelry section, but I found this one engagement ring that looked almost exactly like the one that I got Sarah. But the difference was the diamonds are lab diamonds, which are ethically and sustainably sourced, which is something important to me. Clarity and beauty wise, they are exactly the same. And it is so much cheaper than other diamonds.”

Gerry Turner followed in the footsteps of several Bachelors before him when he said “I love you” to more than one contestant, but the Golden Bachelor managed to escape some of the same backlash. “He is a little older so we give him a little leniency,” Joe Amabile told Us Weekly in an exclusive interview […]
Other items on the guide include the tennis bracelet he will be getting for Hyland this month, plus looks to wear on a V-Day date. “If you’re going having a date night with your partner, there’s plenty of things for you to look good in. I found this amazing black suit that was this European cut that wasn’t too expensive, but it looked fantastic and didn’t need any alterations on it,” he said. “They’ve also got some great fragrances there. I picked out the Messi one.”
