Where General Hospital’s Cameron Mathison Stands With Ex-Wife Vanessa After Separation

Soap opera drama does not extend to Cameron Mathison‘s personal life.

After all, the All My Children actor recently detailed where he and Vanessa Mathison stand eight months after announcing their separation.

“Vanessa and I, we love each other,” Cameron, 55, told Us Weekly in an interview published March 21. “We’re still super close.”

He added, “My wife and I had a beautiful 22-year relationship, and then things fell apart.”

The couple, who share Lucas, 21, and Leila, 18, have remained “tight” for the sake of their family. They especially had to stick together through the Los Angeles wildfires in January, when their family home—one he noted they’d hoped would remain in their family for generations to come—burned down.

“This house was so special to both of us even though we’ve been separated for a couple years now,” Cameron explained. “When couples kind of go through things, hopefully, your goal is to be close eventually, and support each other and forget about all the messiness and just be there for each other.”
