Who Is Gia Giudice’s Boyfriend? All About Christian Carmichael (and the Reason Behind Their Brief Breakup)

Gia Giudice is following in her mom Teresa Giudice’s footsteps by showcasing her life — including her relationship with Christian Carmichael — on reality TV.

Giudice, who grew up on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, started dating Carmichael after they met during a beach weekend in New Jersey ahead of her freshman year of college at Rutgers University. They made their relationship Instagram official later that year and — minus one brief breakup — have been together ever since.

In April 2024, Giudice celebrated Carmichael’s birthday, writing on her Instagram Stories, per the Daily Dish, “Happy birthday to my best friend and forever person. I am so proud of you. Forever travel partner. I love you so much. Bonnie to my Clyde. Happiest time with you. Crazy to think … how time flies.”

Carmichael has supported Giudice in her reality TV and influencer ventures and currently works in sales. When they aren’t working together, they’re traveling, attending events and making TikTok videos.

So, who is Gia Giudice’s boyfriend? Here’s everything to know about Christian Carmichael and his relationship with the Bravo star.

He grew up in New Jersey and his family lives close to Giudice’s

Similar to Giudice, Carmichael is also a New Jersey native. Carmichael and Giudice both graduated high school in 2019, although they went to different schools.

During a joint appearance with Carmichael on the March 30 episode of her podcast, Casual Chaos with Gia Giudice, he explained that he and Giudice live at their respective parents’ homes, which are about 35 minutes away from each other in New Jersey.

He works in sales

Carmichael has worked as a salesperson at Influencer Nation since November 2023, according to his LinkedIn.

Prior to working in sales, he was a part-time real estate agent and a construction worker.

Giudice and Carmichael met at the Jersey Shore before she attended Rutgers University

Giudice and Carmichael first crossed paths when they were on separate trips to Seaside Heights, N.J., in the summer of 2019. Giudice explained on the March 30 episode of her podcast that she was visiting a friend over the Fourth of July weekend when they went to the house that Carmichael was staying at.

“I show up to this house. I had the best weekend of my life. Out of control. But it was so much fun,” Giudice recalled. “And all of a sudden, I see the door open up. There’s girls in the room.”

She continued, “He has, like, marks all over his face. I think our friend, Frankie, drew on his face. And I just see him spring out of bed, chase Frankie out of the house, up to the beach. And I’m sitting there, like, ‘Holy crap. These kids are actually out of their mind.’ Like, ‘What am I getting myself into?’ ”

Despite the chaotic start, they hit it off and “hung out the rest of the summer.”

However, Giudice went on to attend Rutgers in the fall of 2019, so they didn’t start officially dating until January 2020.

Giudice said her family is “obsessed” with Carmichael

As fans of the Real Housewives of New Jersey know, the entire Giudice family is very tight. In addition to her mom and stepfather, Teresa and Luis Ruelas, Giudice also has a close relationship with her dad, Joe Giudice, who lives in the Bahamas and her three younger sisters: Gabriella, Milania and Audriana.

Carmichael has developed his own bond with Giudice’s family, including her dad.

“My mom loves Christian,” Giudice said on her podcast. “But, you know, Christian honestly has an amazing relationship with everyone in my family.”

Carmichael echoed his girlfriend’s sentiment and said that Teresa is “the best.”

Giudice added that Carmichael has visited Joe in the Bahamas before and gotten “close” with him.

“You guys have a great relationship,” said of her dad and her beau. “You guys always joke around with each other.”

They briefly broke up during Giudice’s junior year of college

Although Giudice and Carmichael began dating in 2020, they had a brief breakup when she was a junior at Rutgers.

“It started getting foggy in February, honestly. It was after my date night that it all went downhill,” she said on her podcast. “He was basically just immature. Very immature.”

Carmichael agreed, adding, “The reason we broke up was because I was immature. Basically, [my] communication was horrible. I was always with my friends and I had no drive. I didn’t have my first job until I was … 21 … You hated that.”

“I hated it,” Giudice said. “It bothered me so much. It didn’t turn me on, honestly. I just felt like you had no motivation, no drive and it really bothered me.”

However, Carmichael took Giudice’s message to heart and subsequently got two jobs to show his work ethic. His efforts paid off, with Giudice noting that “he just obviously was doing everything to show me that he was growing as a person.”

“We got back together after like six [or] seven months,” she shared. “And we’ve been together ever since now … I bet none of you even knew we broke up during that time, honestly.”

They aren’t in any rush to move in together

After Giudice graduated from Rutgers in May 2023, she moved in with her mom and her stepdad, while Carmichael also lived with his parents in New Jersey. As of March 2025, they were both living at their respective parents’ homes but spending most of their nights together.

“We both work a lot during the day, and a lot of the times, we like to come together at night,” Giudice said on the March 30 podcast episode. “We always sleep together — we basically sleep together almost every night.”

However, Giudice explained that they’re hoping to move out of their homes and in together soon, because they “want to see each other after ending our days.”

Despite aiming to live together one day, both Giudice and Carmichael said they “enjoy living at home” for the moment.

“I love living at home. It’s not that we financially can’t move out. We could move out tomorrow. I’m just not ready to — like, once you’re out, you’re out. There’s no coming back now. There’s no rush, honestly,” Carmichael chimed in, while later adding, “Everyone pushes it on us, but it’s really not that big of a deal. I’m 23, you’re 24. Like, you don’t have to be out of the house.”

Giudice clarified that moving in together is also “not anything that we’re jumping to do.” She added, “We can’t put a timeline on it, but it’s gonna happen soon. I don’t know when.”

As for where they’d want to live, they said that they’re still finding a “happy medium” between New York City and their respective homes in New Jersey.

Giudice previously spoke to Teresa and Ruelas about the possibility of living with Carmichael during a season 14 episode of RHONJ.

“Yeah, I mean, I was a little shocked to hear it at first. I was like, ‘What?’ Because I feel like you should live on your own first and then go be with the guy,” Teresa admitted, while later adding, “Gia is an adult now. She can do whatever makes her happy.”

He’ll appear on Next Gen NYC

Giudice is starring alongside other Bravo stars’ children on the Bravo show, Next Gen NYC — and Carmichael is making some features alongside her.

“I’m excited for people to get to know my fun lighthearted self,” Giudice told PEOPLE of the reality TV show in April 2025. “And I just want them to feel like they’re in a conversation with me while listening to my podcast. I want them to feel how casual and easy I am, and I also want them to really feel like they can relate to me.”
