Nearly five years before stepping into the Love Island USA villa, Huda Mustafa welcomed a daughter with her ex, Noah Sheline.
During her time on the Peacock dating show, the Love Island USA star has been open with some of her fellow Islanders about being a mother. She welcomed a daughter, Arleigh, with Sheline in 2020.
As Mustafa has received some online backlash from viewers throughout the season, Sheline defended his child’s mother on his social media accounts.
“At the end of the day I hope everyone remembers we’re human,” he wrote in a lengthy message on his TikTok story in June 2025. “Her going on that show to find love, or whatever you think it was she’s doing, remember she’s still human, she has a daughter, and a life.”

He is from Michigan
Sheline is from Michigan but is now based out of North Carolina, per his TikTok bio. Mustafa is also from North Carolina.
According to his Instagram, Sheline attended Berrien Springs High School, where he was part of the track team.
In December 2020, he shared an Instagram photo from Berrien Center, Mich., writing that he was “home for the holidays.”
He is in the military
Sheline serves in the United States Army, per several photos on his Instagram.
In June 2024, he shared a carousel of images showing he had received his Sapper Tab, which signals he is a “combatant skilled in a variety of military engineering duties such as minefield placement or clearing, bridge-building, demolitions, field defenses, and road and airfield construction,” per the official U.S. Army website.
They welcomed their daughter in July 2020
On July 15, 2020, Sheline shared a carousel of photos — including a snapshot with Mustafa — on Instagram, announcing that he had welcomed a daughter named Arleigh Kalila Sheline.
“You are the best thing to happen in my life! I love you babygirl! I give you my all, and love you with all my heart ❤️,” he captioned the post. “You are the most adorable treasure and the best gift to me as your father! I am blessed by god for your health and the support he has given me and the awesome mother you have!”
That August, he shared a photo of Arleigh — whom he called his “princess” — in honor of her 1-month birthday.
Mustafa commented, “My adorable little nugget is growing up so fast😭💕.”
He enjoys being a “young dad”
Over the years, Sheline has been open about loving fatherhood.
In October 2022, he shared a photo with his daughter on Instagram, writing, “Don’t ask me to have a kid young, I’ll tell you yes! She makes being a young dad feel like the best thing in the world!”
In June 2025, he shared a heartfelt message to his daughter on Instagram.
“I’m everything I am because of you my sweet princess,” he said. “My favorite things in this world involve you! As I much as I hate to see you grow up, you do it most beautifully:) Forever in your corner!”
He defended Mustafa amid backlash to her appearance on Love Island USA
On June 16, 2025, Sheline shared a message on his TikTok story to defend his ex amid the public backlash she has received from her time on Love Island USA. Mustafa has faced criticism after she coupled up with Jeremiah Brown on the first day of season 7 and appeared not to pursue other connections.
“She’s maybe not doing a great job idk I don’t watch the show but I don’t like that I’m seeing so much negative s— on my page or even clips of it about her,” Sheline wrote. “It’s not my job to police her or the people in my comments, but I will say what you guys do will affect her mental health and my daughter’s maybe in the future.”
He continued, “So I’m looking out for her in that aspect. Out of respect for our daughter.”
Sheline added that it’s “crazy I have to involve myself in this but I don’t want my daughter’s mom to get out and see this and her mental health goes down a hill.”
He concluded his post with asking fans to “be nice.”
“It’s a tv show,” he said. “Y’all are watching people date I don’t think it’s that serious to put someone down a hole of bullying. Regardless of how ridiculous she might be or seem.”
Although the TikTok story expired, Sheline has since reposted a screenshot of his message that another user posted.
