King Charles III is set to travel to North America early next week, but does he have plans to meet up with estranged son Prince Harry?
Buckingham Palace announced on Tuesday, May 20, that Charles, 76, and Queen Camilla would travel to Ottawa, Canada, on Monday, May 26, and Tuesday, May 27. The overseas trip will mark Charles’ first visit to Canada as king.
The couple is set to meet with several members of Canada’s government and Camilla, 77, will also be sworn in as a member of the Canadian Privy Council.
Charles’ trip to North America has raised questions about whether or not he plans to connect with Harry, 40, amid their ongoing family feud. There are no plans on the calendar for the father and son to cross paths just yet.
Us Weekly has reached out to Buckingham Palace and Team Sussex for comment.

Prince Harry has a busy schedule while traveling home to the United Kingdom, but it doesn’t include a reunion with King Charles III. “In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible […]
Harry made the permanent move from Europe to North America in 2020, relocating from London to California alongside wife Meghan Markle. The move came after Harry and Meghan, 43, left their roles as senior royal family members that same year.
Harry returned to the U.K. late last month and spent two days at London’s Royal Courts of Justice to appeal a previous decision that took away his family’s government-funded security. The Duke of Sussex initially lost the case in February 2024 and a judge denied his appeal earlier this month.
Harry spoke out in a bombshell BBC interview following the May 2 loss, hinting at his father’s involvement in the case and pleading with his family to reconcile.
“There is a lot of control and ability in my father’s hands,” Harry said, in part. “Ultimately, this whole thing could be resolved through him. Not necessarily by intervening, but by stepping aside, allowing the experts [to] do what is necessary.”
Harry claimed that Charles “won’t speak to me” in the same interview. (The last time Harry and Charles saw each other was in February 2024.)
“I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” he continued. “Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has.”
Royal expert Christopher Andersen told Us Weekly exclusively that Charles will not be reaching out to Harry anytime soon.
“The King is only hewing to a long-standing royal practice of not dignifying something by commenting on it. The Palace does not want to give oxygen to Harry’s remarks,” Andersen, who has authored multiple books about the royal family, continued. “King Charles has a lot on his plate as it is — there is no upside to his getting into a public quarrel with his son.”
