A woman is seeking help from the internet after discovering that her mother-in-law tracks her husband’s movements using the Find My app.
In a post published to Reddit, she writes that the app — which allows users to share their location with others — is “literally an obsession” to her mother-in-law.
“She tracks my husband and brother-in-law and has nothing better to do than to constantly see where they are or where they are going,” she adds. “I’ve seen her do it to my brother-in-law when she has been at my house (he lives on the opposite coast) and she stalks and comments on his every move, especially when he is on vacation or traveling for work.”

The woman adds that she and her mother-in-law also used to be connected on the app when the older woman visited, and she wanted to be able to check in on her estimated arrival.
“That ‘following’ stopped a few years ago when [mother-in-law] would text me every time she saw that I was staying home from work,” the woman adds in the post. “I would get immediate texts from her asking what was wrong, if my kids were sick, or if we had Covid. It was ridiculous and [nosy], and I unfollowed her which meant she lost access to me, too.”
She continues: “Why does she think any of this is her business? … My husband goes through waves of defending and getting angry at her behavior. He chalked up the weekend stalking to the fact that she’s bored and has nothing better to do. They moved closer to us almost two years ago (in the same state an hour away), and I can’t help but think that she stalks him to see what he’s doing that is so important and takes precedence over spending time with her.”
