YouTuber Piper Rockelle broke her silence about disturbing abuse allegations against her mom, Tiffany Smith.
Rockelle, 17, made a rare statement to Rolling Stone on Thursday, May 1, where she claimed her former friends were “stretching the truth” about their encounters with her mom and her mom’s boyfriend Hunter Hill.
“They’re not making it up, but they’re extending the truth,” Rockelle stated in the interview. “I was there. I witnessed every day … I think that they believe what they are saying, but I was there and I saw everything.”
The online personality declined to speak about claims Smith used a fictional persona to make inappropriate comments to former members of her content creation squad.

Netflix’s newest tell-all doc revealed disturbing claims made against YouTube star Piper Rockelle‘s mom Tiffany Smith, including alleged instances of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior involving minors. During Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing, which premiered on Wednesday, April 9, multiple former members from Rockelle’s famous online squad spoke out about their alleged experiences […]
“I can get into that in the future,” Rockelle replied before elaborating on whether her mother would say sexually suggestive remarks, “I don’t really think I should answer that yet … I think I should wait until I’m old enough to speak about it.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Rockelle slammed claims her mother allegedly sold her underwear to men online. The allegations were originally made in Netflix’s Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing, which premiered last month.
Smith previously denied the claim and Rockelle stood by her mother’s statement. She clarified that a “brand deal” with the digital thrifting marketplace Poshmark is why her personal items were being shipped out but that Smith “never sold any of my underwear.”
Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing featured interview with multiple former members from Rockelle’s famous online squad who spoke out about their alleged experiences with Smith. Sophie Fergi, Corinne Joy and Raegan Beast were some of the content creators who cited Smith’s behavior as the reason for their 2022 lawsuit.
Smith was sued by 11 teenagers — and their parents — due to the group being allegedly subjected to “an emotionally, physically and sometimes sexually abusive environment perpetrated by Ms. Smith on and off set during filming sessions for Piper’s YouTube channel.” There were also allegations that the plaintiffs suffered “inappropriate, offensive and abusive treatment,” including receiving “wildly offensive and sexually explicit comments” from Smith.

Netflix’s Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing featured shocking revelations with many — but not all — former and current members of Piper Rockelle‘s YouTube squad. The three-part docuseries, which premiered on Wednesday, April 9, pulled back the curtain on Rockelle’s online presence. Sophie Fergi, Corinne Joy and Sawyer Sharbino are just some of […]
The lawsuit ended in October 2024 with a $1.85 million settlement. As part of the settlement, Smith denied wrongdoing and has since opted out of addressing the docuseries.
“Obviously we didn’t do anything that was alleged, but sadly, money is a big motivator for certain personalities in this world. We made the decision to put this behind us because honestly, prolonged litigation would be even more harmful and painful to everyone involved – which includes kids,” Smith said in a statement before the docuseries’ release. “Piper is a minor, and has already been through a great deal of unnecessary and harmful scrutiny. So we prioritized mental health, and made the decision to put this behind us and focus on the next phase of her career.”
Rockelle weighed in on the comments her former friends made in the documentary about how concerned they were for her, telling Rolling Stone, “You know where I live. Come get me if you want to save me. If you want to ‘Save Piper,’ stop talking please. Because by hurting my mother, you’re hurting a part of me.”
She continued: “That’s something I have to worry about is people coming and trying to take away my mother because they always envied my mom and I’s relationship. My father was never in my life so it’s always just been her. She somehow always has a way of making me feel better and making me feel like everything’s going to be OK.”
