Zayn Malik’s seemingly relaxed Sunday afternoon has whipped fans into a tizzy — and, honestly, we can’t say we blame them.
Malik, 32, uploaded a selfie of himself to Instagram on Sunday, May 25, in which he wore a white tank top, a tangle of gold necklaces and a black baseball cap that read, “HBO Original The Last of Us.” He also had a thick, bushy beard that has Us doing a double take.
While Malik has sported stubble through the years, he had recently been clean-shaven for the duration of his recent Stairway to the Sky Tour earlier in 2025.
It’s safe to say that Malik’s full beard has his fans thirsting over his physique.

“Zayn Javadd [sic] Malik, the man that you are,” one social media user commented, as another wrote, “Well hello handsome, I hope you’re doing well.”
A third replied, “Farmer Zayn, I love you 😍.”
Malik, who hails from England, primarily resides on a farm in Pennsylvania with 4-year-old daughter Khai. (The One Direction alum coparents his only child with ex Gigi Hadid.)
“I ended up coming out here with my ex a bit, and I fell in love with it,” Malik recalled of his farm during a 2023 appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “It was just super calm and chill. … I just wanted to take a break from the busy city ‘cause I was living in New York for three years at a time, and it just got a bit overwhelming, like, going out of your door to just craziness all the time. I wanted a bit more of a surrounding that I’m used to where I grew up in Bradford.”
Malik’s life out of the limelight also gave him time to grow out his facial hair.
“There were certain restrictions in terms of the way that we could come outside of that young teen boy look. … I wasn’t allowed to keep it,” he claimed to Complex in 2016, referring to his time in One Direction. “Eventually, when I got older, I rebelled against it and decided to keep it anyway. That was just because I looked older than the rest of them.”
He added, “That’s one of the things that is now quite cool. I get to keep my beard. I also wanted to dye my hair when I was in the band, but I wasn’t allowed to.”
Malik left the British boy band in 2017, going on to become a solo artist.
