Zoe Saldana Walks the Red Carpet With Her 3 Sons at L.A. Premiere of ‘Elio’

Zoe Saldaña had a true mom’s night out at the Los Angeles premiere of Elio.

The actress walked the red — well, midnight blue — carpet of the new Pixar film at the El Capitan Theatre on Tuesday, June 10, alongside her three boys — twins Bowie and Cy, 10, and her youngest son, Zen, 8.

For the event, the boys matched in navy blue blazers, white button-down shirts, jeans and sneakers. Saldaña, 46, paired a brown turtleneck blouse with a mustard yellow pencil skirt. She capped off the look with brown heels and a stack of hoop earrings, and she wore her hair in a loose, low bun.

During an interview with Extra on Tuesday, Bowie and Cy snacked on what appeared to be churros while their mom spoke with the reporter.

Zoe Saldaña continued to celebrate her awards season success with her littlest loved ones by her side. The actress, 46, attended the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Wednesday, February 12, with her three children – twins Cy and Bowie, 10, and son Zen, 8. The boys were the spitting image of their mom while […]

“I hope [this gets me cool points],” Saldaña said as her twins stood by her side. “I feel like that’s the reason why I do it. I think it only makes sense for me to make art that stems out of all the things that I’m living in my life, simultaneously. And motherhood has been very impactful for me. It’s the biggest and most important role of my life.”

Elio tells the story of an 11-year-old space fanatic (voiced by Yonas Kibreab) who is accidentally summoned to the “Communiverse,” an intergalactic organization where he’s forced to represent the human race as an ambassador for Earth. Saldaña voices his guardian Aunt Olga in the big-screen adventure, which sees Elio and his alien friend Glordon (Remy Edgerly) encounter a host of out-of-this world creatures who just might help him figure out exactly where he belongs.

“There was something really special about the bond between Olga and Elio that spoke wonders to me,” Saldaña told Extra at the premiere, mentioning the death of her father, Aridio Saldaña, who was killed in a car accident when she was 9 years old.

“I’m a child that lost a parent at a very early age and I remember what it was like to try to be brave every single day even though you were experiencing pain at such a magnitude that you couldn’t even put into words,” she explained. “And where would I be, who would I be today if it weren’t for the support of a little friend. Even if it’s an alien, Glordon!”

Zoe and her husband, Marco Perego-Saldaña, welcomed Bowie and Cy — the latter of whom’s middle name is Aridio — in November 2014. Zen joined their brood in February 2017.

“Marco and I are elated to share the news of the birth of our son Zen. We couldn’t feel more blessed with the new addition to our family. #threeboys… oh boy!” she shared via Instagram at the time.

Zoe and artist Marco, 46, make an effort to teach their sons about hard work in light of their busy schedules.

“I’ve replaced, throughout the years, two very important words,” Zoe told E! News in 2024. “I used to tell them I have to go to work, and now I tell them I want to go to work.”
