A toddler's love of baseball led to an unexpected — and hilarious — moment during a practice session with his grandpa.
In a video captured on Feb. 28 and shared via ViralHog, a 3-year-old boy can be seen taking swings inside a garage in Commerce, Ga. The little slugger is focused, determined and clearly enjoying every second.
Then one swing goes a little off course.
As the boy connects with the ball, it shoots forward and hits his grandpa directly in the chest. The impact catches him by surprise, but he quickly laughs it off.
Thankfully, it wasn't a hard ball, and no one was hurt.
According to the boy's family, baseball is already a huge part of his life. “Our 3-year-old is absolutely obsessed with baseball — he eats, sleeps, and breathes it,” they said, per the video's caption.
They added that he looks up to Michael Harris II and Ronald Acuña Jr., hoping to follow in their footsteps one day.
“He was out there taking swings with his pop… that swing came in HOT and caught pop right in the chest,” they said. “Definitely wasn't part of the plan.”

Even so, the moment became a lighthearted reminder of just how much energy — and power — the young player already has. “We're proud parents,” they added.
Viewers, however, had their eyes on another standout in the clip. As the ball rolled away, the family dog quickly jumped into action, retrieving it and bringing it back like a seasoned teammate.
“The dog is the MVP for playing fetch,” one commenter wrote. Others agreed. “The ball boy was a good boy,” another joked, while someone else added, “The kid's batting is cute, but the dog picking up the ball is cute too.”
