At least four people were killed, and 29 people were injured following a multiple-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 in Pueblo, Colo., on Tuesday, Feb. 17.

The Pueblo Police Department closed the I-25 between Mile Marker 91 and Mile Marker 94 on Tuesday morning amid the crash, according to its alert on X.

"Crews are working the scene and there is no estimated time of reopening," the Colorado State Patrol said. "Traffic is using the frontage road to detour around the closure, and the southbound side is now open. Travelers should be aware of the possibility of blowing dust and high winds creating visibility issues in the area."

The four victims were identified as two adult men and two adult women, CSP said in a press release. The two men were believed to be from Walsenburg, Colo., while one of the women was from Rye, Colo., and the other was from Pueblo.

The victim's identities have not yet been made public by authorities.

There were 29 passenger vehicles and seven semi trucks involved in the deadly crash, according to CSP. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Following the crash, 29 people were transported to two local hospitals for treatment. Of those hospitalized, seven people sustained "serious bodily injury," while 21 individuals were treated for "moderate to minor injuries," according to CSP.

One person remains hospitalized in critical condition.
