I’m on a mission to walk at least three miles a day this fall, so I need some new comfortable shoes.
Since I’m also on a budget right now, I scoured Amazon’s Labor Day sale for the best sneakers that’ll support my feet without costing an arm and a leg (pun intended). Luckily, I found tons of podiatrist-recommended fall sneakers from popular brands like Skechers, Hoka, New Balance, and Brooks. I narrowed down the selection to the eight most comfortable walking shoes to wear this season, all on sale from $43.

Skechers Var-City Sneaker Loafers

$75 $58 at Amazon
I’m always a fan of sneakers that are equally cute and comfortable, and this sneaker-loafer hybrid — which podiatrist Dr. Samantha Landau previously told PEOPLE she calls “snoafers” — definitely fits the bill. The shoes come in metallic gold, silver, and black, and Dr. Landau said they “have all the great characteristics of a sneaker and loafer combined.”
Hoka Bondi 9 Sneakers

$170 $156 at Amazon
I spotted so many people wearing Hoka sneakers on my most recent Disneyland trip, which made me want a pair, too. Podiatrist Dr. Shaynah Goldfine previously told PEOPLE that they’re a “great option for all-day wear,” since they have “plush cushioning” that “helps absorb impact during long walks.” They come in sizes 4–12, with standard, wide, and extra-wide widths available.
New Balance 327 Sneakers

$105 $93 at Amazon
Podiatrist Dr. Madeline Walkner recommends these sporty New Balance sneakers for people with plantar fasciitis or flat feet. She previously told PEOPLE that they’re “easy to style with athleisure or casual outfits while still being supportive.” She pointed out that their cushioned midsoles, supportive heels, and wider toe boxes “reduce pressure,” making them perfect for daily walks.
Easy Spirit Romy Sneakers

$85 $43 at Amazon
Swap your worn-out white sneakers for this supportive, leather-and-mesh pair that’s been a “popular style for the past 15 years,” podiatrist Dr. Elizabeth Daughtry previously told PEOPLE. “It’s a lightweight walking shoe for those that want or need a more supportive or stable ride,” she explained. Choose from sizes 5–12 with standard, narrow, and wide widths available.

Jennifer Garner wears Brooks sneakers repeatedly, so you’ll be in comfortable company when you slip into this sporty pair. “These shoes provide excellent cushioning while maintaining enough structure to keep the foot stable during long days,” podiatrist Dr. Matthew Neuhaus previously told PEOPLE. They’re also designed with the brand’s patented GuideRails technology that helps with alignment, pronation, and excess joint movement.
Dr. Scholl’s Time Off Sneakers

$110 $75 at Amazon
Multiple podiatrists recommended these sneakers to me over the past year, and they weren’t wrong. I bought them three months ago and have since walked in them for hundreds of comfy, pain-free miles around Disneyland, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Dr. Walkner previously told PEOPLE that their “targeted arch support” is great for people who walk long distances, while their lightweight platform soles help “reduce metatarsal pressure.” Meanwhile, podiatrist Dr. Nicole Graf shared with PEOPLE that these sneakers have “more cushioning than many trend-focused sneakers,” making them the perfect “fashion meets comfort” option for daily walks.
Vionic Walk Slim Glide Sneakers

$150 $78 at Amazon
Podiatrist Dr. Anne Sharkey previously told PEOPLE that these sneakers “balance cushioning and stability while remaining breathable to reduce hot and sweaty feet.” My fall travels include trips to Italy, Cleveland, Boston, and Indiana, so I’ll be bringing these podiatrist-approved Vionic sneakers along for the ride.
Cole Haan Grand Crosscourt Sneakers, $59 with coupon

$110 $59 at Amazon
If you’ll be “walking more than expected,” Dr. Goldfine previously told PEOPLE that these sneakers have “a comfortable amount of cushioning without sacrificing style.” Choose from a variety of neutral hues like cream, white, or black, plus sizes 5–11 with both standard and wide widths available.
