The content creator behind @NotTheWorstMom took to her Instagram on Sunday, March 8, posting a video of herself planting flowers outside and sharing the news that she and her husband of 21 years, Sterling Buckley, are divorcing.
“Welp… welcome to divorcecore, I guess,” she wrote. “Getting divorced and moving halfway across the country wasn’t on my f—in vision board, I can tell you that.”
Sara shared that she is moving from Las Vegas to Oklahoma City to “start a whole new life with my baby sister.”
While planting flowers, she jokingly wrote, “Blah blah blah some sappy s–t about uprooting your life and blooming somewhere else,” before adding, “Anywho, still getting yoked while being hot and funny.”
Several hours after her announcement, Sara posted another video, shutting down any online hate toward her estranged husband.
“Pump the Sterling hate brakes. You didn’t see me say anything bad about him. Did you?” she added. “No, so don’t jump to conclusions. I will not be speaking badly about Sterling ever, so calm down. You get us both in the divorce. Relax.”
The mother of three captioned her post, “Just bc we’re divorcing doesn’t mean I don’t have his back. It’s still the 5 of us vs everyone ❤️”

The couple met as teenagers and share three adult children together. Sterling, an influencer in his own right, shared a post on Instagram about the benefits of advocating for mental health shortly after Sara’s divorce announcement.
“For years I’ve encouraged people to take their mental health seriously, to be open about any struggle you’re going through,” he began. “Going through a depression is not shameful. You’re not alone, and there are lots of people who are willing to be there for you. That has come back to me a hundredfold the past couple weeks.”
