Authorities in Florida say they might seek the death penalty for a woman accused of killing her two ex-husbands on the same day last December.
Susan Avalon is facing charges in connection with the Dec. 17 killings of her ex-husbands in Hillsborough and Manatee counties in Florida, per the Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office.
The victims were identified in a warrant as David Scott, who was killed in Bradenton, and Timothy Fletcher, who was killed in Tampa.
Manatee County officials investigating Scott's shooting on Dec. 17 tipped off Tampa police, who then found Fletcher's body in his residence the same day, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said at the time.
The Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office said in a statement this week they will pursue the death penalty against Avalon.
Authorities allege that on the afternoon of Dec. 17, she shot Scott at his doorstep, and when police arrived, Scott, who was still alive, told them the shooter could've been his ex-wife, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said at the time.
Scott's daughter, whom he shared with Avalon, alleged to police that she heard three gunshots, and that shortly after, she saw a vehicle driving off. Using a description of the vehicle and other evidence collected at the scene, police located Avalon in Citrus County, per the sheriff's office.
When they approached Avalon and asked about her ex-husband, she allegedly responded: "Which one?" according to the sheriff's office.
This prompted Manatee County officials to ask Tampa police to conduct a welfare check on Fletcher, who was found fatally shot in his residence.
Authorities allege Avalon first killed Fletcher before traveling to Scott's residence and shooting him.

Avalon has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder in connection with Fletcher's death, and two counts of second-degree murder in connection with Scott's killing.
She has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
