Groff and Radcliffe both earned Tony Awards for their performances in the Broadway musical revival

Daniel Radcliffe and Jonathan Groff are rolling along into another project together.
The Tony Award-winning actors, who recently starred together in the smash Broadway revival of Merrily We Roll Along, will reunite in Trust the Man, a film set during the Vietnam War, according to Deadline.
The thriller, from writer-director Will Graham, centers on an Army intelligence officer assigned to investigate a decorated soldier with a mysterious past during the war. "As surveillance and interrogation deepen, the line between loyalty and obsession blurs, leading both men into a dangerous and uncontrollable connection," reads the film's synopsis, reports Deadline.

The project was first announced in February with Radcliffe and Lucas Hedges starring. However, Hedges is reportedly no longer involved due to scheduling issues. Details on Groff's role in the film have yet to be announced.
Radcliffe, 36, Groff, 41, and Lindsay Mendez starred in a critically acclaimed production of Stephen Sondheim's musical Merrily We Roll Along, which went from Off-Broadway to a first-ever Broadway run from October 2023 to July 2024. Sony Pictures Classics released a filmed version of the stage show in December 2025.
The trio of actors became so close during the show's run that when Mendez, 43, married fellow actor J. Alex Brinson in April 2024 in New York City, Radcliffe served as ring bearer and Groff officiated.
"They were with me right when I started dating my husband and have been with me through a lot of just that season of my life,” the Tony-winning actress told PEOPLE at the time. The three stars, she added, have a "deep and real" love and connection, which "makes the show so easy to do for us."

Groff thanked his two Merrily castmates in his 2024 Tony Award acceptance speech. "You are more than old friends — you are soulmates," he said. "And I'm looking forward to watching each other change for the rest of our lives."

Groff followed up that show by starring as Bobby Darin in last season's musical Just in Time. He will next play Rosalind in William Shakespeare's As You Like It across the pond with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Groff will also star in the movie musical Octet, directed by his Hamilton costar, Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Radcliffe is in the running at this year's Tony Awards for leading the play Every Brilliant Thing this spring at the Hudson Theatre. The father of one also starred recently in the NBC sitcom The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins.
