An unlicensed cosmetologist has been sentenced to prison after administering injections that led to the death of an OnlyFans model known for her resemblance to Kim Kardashian.
On Monday, June 15, Vivian Alexandra Gomez was sentenced to four years in prison in connection with the April 2023 death of 34-year-old Christina Ashten Gourkani, NBC Bay Area and the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
Gourkani, who gained an online following for her resemblance to Kim Kardashian, underwent illegal silicone butt injections from Gomez, who had traveled from Florida to perform the procedure inside a California hotel room.

PEOPLE reached out to an attorney for Gomez.
The San Mateo County District Attorney's Office announced in March that Gomez was found guilty of felony involuntary manslaughter and practicing medicine without a license, the office said in a March statement shared on X.
Gomez flew to the San Francisco International Airport “and administered gluteal injections to the victim at a hotel,” the district attorney’s office said. Gourkani “became immediately ill” and “died of respiratory failure.”
The San Mateo County District Attorney's Office did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe previously said Gourkani died on April 20 from cardiac arrest, while prosecutors reportedly said silicone was found in her bloodstream.
In May 2023, Dr. Michael K. Obeng, a board-certified plastic surgeon and a member of PEOPLE's Health Squad, told PEOPLE, "Most of these illegal injections are made with silicone, and silicone or any foreign substance can migrate within the body, which can lead to infection and hardness over time, deforming parts of the body.”
"And as with any injection, it can go into your bloodstream," he said. "And if it gets in the bloodstream, it can block the blood vessels and cause necrosis [or dead tissue]. So that's a huge danger."

Gomez reportedly left California immediately after the illegal surgery and returned to Florida, per NBC Bay Area. The outlet said after she arrived, she was arrested on a warrant issued in San Mateo County and transferred back.
"She's a very nice woman," Gomez’s attorney said of his client, per NBC Bay Area. "She was willing to accept responsibility for involuntary manslaughter a long time ago."
