- Reese Witherspoon’s Sunnie brand is launching two new books to help readers ditch their screens and embrace their creativity
- Sunnie’s Pocket Playbook and Sunnie Junk Journal, out Oct. 6, are the first titles in a new partnership between Sunnie and Union Square & Co.
- The multi-season partnership will eventually include six books and more than 20 companion products
If you're planning a digital detox this fall, Reese Witherspoon's Sunnie brand wants to help you ditch the phone and pick up a book.
Sunnie, which Witherspoon, 50, launched last year as part of her Hello Sunshine media company, has teamed up with publishing company Union Square & Co. on two new books that could help you keep your screen time down.
The partnership comes as younger audiences' interest in analog hobbies and offline experiences continues to grow. Research published last year indicated that Americans under 30 are more likely to want to reduce their screen time compared to older generations.
The first two titles from the partnership, which aims to encourage Gen Z readers to embrace creativity, self-discovery and intentional offline time, are Sunnie's Pocket Playbook and Sunnie Junk Journal.

Sunnie's Pocket Playbook, which the publisher calls "a moodboard for life in seven tiny curations," is an illustrated guide to living a "Sunnie" life and embracing five pillars of the Sunnie philosophy: personal agency, curiosity, purpose, self-discovery and connecting with community.
The Sunnie Junk Journal, meanwhile, is a guided journal with space to store keepsakes and souvenirs like notecards, receipts and concert stubs, allowing users to "collage and collect all the wild, wonderful and everyday stuff in your world."

It's divided into six sections — Life Lists, Travel, Favorite Things, Milestones, Inspo and Wild Card — to make collaging and collecting easier.
Both books are set for release on Oct. 6, and they'll be followed by more titles covering cooking, crafts and finance, as well as journals, card decks, notebooks and other book-adjacent merchandise. A total of six books and more than 20 companion products are set to arrive.
"Sunnie is what we all need in this moment," said Emily Meehan, Senior Vice President and Publisher at Union Square & Co. in a press release. "A positive distraction from doom-scrolling that prioritizes community and experiences."
Maureen Polo, CEO of Hello Sunshine, added of the deal, the first of its kind for Sunnie, "We're thrilled to partner with Union Square & Co. to bring Sunnie's world to life. Sunnie is all about curiosity, creativity and connection."
