Arsenio Hall has a special way he stays looking young.

The Coming to America star, 70, revealed his secret to staying youthful to guest host Colman Domingo on Jimmy Kimmel Live! after the Selma star, 56, asked him what his routine was, as he didn’t “look like anybody who’s 70.”

“Smoking weed,” the comedian said with a smile and a nod to the audience, who applauded.

In addition to that, he revealed that he was tapping into some more youthful clothing styles, including barrel-style pants — which he and Domingo jokingly dubbed “death pants.”

“My son and I were watching last night and he said, ‘Dad, what [are] you gonna wear because Coleman [is] raising the bar…’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I might go the opposite way,’ ” he recalled.

“And my son took me to buy some death pants,” he explained, as he got up and showed off the khaki-colored pants. “When you’re 26 like my son, you can wear these, but when you are 70, these are death pants.”

Arsenio shares son Arsenio Cheron Hall Jr., who often goes by his middle name, with ex Cheryl Bonacci. The couple split when his son was relatively young, which prompted The Arsenio Hall Show alum to step back from his career to focus on fatherhood in the 2000s and early 2010s.

“I have no regrets. I’ve had an incredible time away,” he told USA Today in 2013. “I was able to raise my son in a way that my parents weren’t able to be in my life.”

During his time away from Hollywood, the former talk show host spent his days on dad duty: taking Cheron to school, helping him with homework and reading bedtime stories. He added to the outlet, “I love being a father. There’s nothing I love more than that.”

He eventually returned to the limelight with guest spots on a few shows before starring in Coming 2 America, a sequel to Coming to America that debuted on Amazon Prime Video in 2021, 30 years after the original hit theaters. Arsenio reprised his iconic role alongside Eddie Murphy.

The actor then went on to release his memoir, Arsenio: A Memoir, in April 2026, which recounted his most iconic moments from his long and winding career, from his start as a magician to The Arsenio Hall Show’s groundbreaking six-season run from 1989 to 1994.

“I could never have imagined what happened to me on Paramount’s stage 29,” Hall previously told PEOPLE of his achievements. “I believe that anybody who succeeds in show business is living a dream. I ‘imagined’ getting my degree from Kent State. A person could never ‘imagine’ what’s happened to me since the day I arrived in Hollywood.”

Arsenio is currently touring the country doing stand-up comedy alongside former The Tonight Show host Jay Leno in a show titled Kings of Late Night.
