Will Forte is uncovering a cartoonishly outrageous legal case in his new movie.

PEOPLE is debuting a new clip from Forte and Lana Condor’s upcoming Looney Tunes comedy Coyote vs. Acme, in which Forte, 56, stars as an attorney representing Wile E. Coyote.

The beloved character files a claim that the Acme corporation — the fictional company that sells the faulty products prominently seen in Looney Tunes cartoons — is purposefully selling bad products to Coyote in his efforts to catch Roadrunner.

In the clip, Forte’s character Kevin Avery and his niece Paige (Condor, 29) watch as Coyote demonstrates how dozens of cartoon Acme products he has purchased over the years malfunction and frequently injure him, no matter how mundane they seem at first.

Kevin, an underachieving lawyer who wants to persuade the cartoon animal to pursue a small case against the company to settle, is coaxed into investigating whether the matter could become a major case by his niece, who works with him at his small legal firm.

“After decades of being blown to bits by bombs, demolished by dynamite, mangled by magnets, battered by boulders, trampled by trains, tricked by tunnels, sprung by springs, steamrolled by steamrollers, maligned by misfires, bedeviled by bungees, rattled by rockets, backstabbed by bat suits, rocked by rocket skates, upended by unicycles, quaked by quake pills, rubberized by rogue bands, and hurled headlong off every cliff in the Southwest, Wile E. Coyote finally fights back,” reads an official synopsis for the movie.

“Teaming up with billboard accident lawyer Kevin Avery, he takes on slick corporate counsel Buddy Crane (John Cena and ACME, Inc., the profit-obsessed conglomerate behind every one of the Coyote’s chaotic catastrophes,” the synopsis adds.

Forte recently opened up to PEOPLE about his experience filming the live-action-animation hybrid movie and his longtime love for the Looney Tunes characters.

“I love Wile E. Coyote, but I probably was more of a Roadrunner guy. Wile E.’s probably the Han Solo and Roadrunner is like Luke, and I remember growing up, I was more the Luke Skywalker guy. But they’re both awesome, so this was this really fun chance to get to know Wile E., and now I’m a both guy.”

Coyote vs. Acme is finally hitting theaters Aug. 28 after years in something of a Hollywood limbo. The movie has been in development since 2018, but in 2023, Warner Bros. announced that it would not release Coyote vs. Acme to obtain a $30 million tax write-off from the production, as Deadline reported at the time.

That decision was met with significant backlash from Forte and other Hollywood figures, leading Warner Bros. to sell the movie to Ketchup Entertainment in March 2025.
