When it comes to her family life, Jessie James Decker has no problem getting personal.
The country singer shares stories with PEOPLE about raising her four young children with husband Eric Decker: Vivianne Rose Decker, 12; Eric “Bubby” Thomas Decker II, 10; Forrest Bradley Decker, 8; and Denver Calloway Decker, 2; and preparing for back-to-school season.
Decker, 38, who on social media is known for her humorous, relatable (and occasionally spicy) skits with her husband, former NFL player Decker, has over five million followers across Instagram and TikTok. Her eldest daughter, Vivianne, pokes fun whenever her mom’s videos pop up on her social media.

Says Decker, “Every now and then my stuff will pop up and she’ll just laugh or be like, ‘Mom, oh my God, you are so silly.’ But it’s all fun.”
After all, Decker is a total open book on her social media accounts, sharing not only funny and flirty moments with Dad but also the heartfelt family occasions, including back to school time; this year will be especially emotional as her youngest, Denver, will soon be starting a part-time daycare program.
“It’ll be really fun to get started with him and get him a little backpack and a little lunchbox. It’ll probably be Toy Story because that’s his favorite right now,” says Decker.
“I love this time of year. It brings me back to my childhood and how special it was that my mom would say, ‘Let’s do our back-to-school shopping.’ It just brings me back home,” she adds.
This year, Decker says keychains, journals, pens, and stickers are at the top of her kids’ wish list.
“[Vivianne] is the big spender of the group. She’s 12, so she wants all the things that are cool and trendy. They’re all about having very cute book bags, and definitely the boys are into these little squishy keychains of football players that they can put on their book bags,” she tells PEOPLE.

The busy mom is partnering with PayPal to simplify her back-to-school shopping (including taking advantage of their app’s cart and money saving capabilities) but she says her husband is the real couponer.
“My husband is Mr. Earning Rewards. He was the coupon guy growing up,” Decker explains with a laugh. “A lot of people get overwhelmed with [shopping]. And so it’s not overwhelming with PayPal. It’s very easy.”

On top of being a singer and mom, she’s putting together her next (and third) cookbook: The Secret Sauce with her mother and sister. The cookbook features Italian-style family recipes with a southern twist, which Decker calls “very sacred.”
Her family’s favorite recipe from the cookbook? A creamy Italian sausage broccoli pasta dish.
“It was delicious, and everyone just gobbled it up,” says Decker.
The Secret Sauce cookbook is set to be published on Oct. 6.
