Keke Palmer truly does it all.
The multi-hyphenate star — who acts, sings, hosts a podcast and more, all while being a single mom — tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview what parts of her career are most thrilling to her nowadays.
“I’m super excited about what’s coming up soon, which is me starting The ‘Burbs,” Palmer, 33, says, referring to filming for the second season of her comedy-mystery on Peacock, which is a remake of the classic 1989 movie with Tom Hanks.
“I’m also looking forward to working on music and doing my podcast. I love doing my podcast,” she continues about her program, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer. “There are great conversations and guests that are going to be coming there.”

Palmer began her professional acting career at age 10 in 2004 , making her film debut as Queen Latifah’s niece in Barbershop 2: Back in Business. Her breakout role came two years later through 2006’s Akeelah and the Bee, and she released a debut album, So Uncool, the following year.
In 2008, Palmer landed her starring role as the titular character in Nickelodeon’s True Jackson, VP, and she continued to take on various acting roles in both film and television — including Hustlers, Nope, Scream Queens and Jump In!, among many others — in the years to follow.
Palmer made history as the first Black woman to star as Cinderella in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella on Broadway in 2014, she has hosted various TV programs — such as GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke, Password and multiple pre-shows and award ceremonies — founded her own digital production network, Key TV Network, and has published a memoir, Master of Me.
Personally, Palmer is a mother to her 3-year-old son, Leodis “Leo” Andrellton Jackson, whom she shares with her ex-boyfriend, Darius Jackson.

Palmer — who has partnered with Sanofi to promote Beyfortus ahead of RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) season —says she is proud that she always has “a lot of good stuff going on.”
She adds, “I’m just glad to really still be able to do what I love and be excited about it when I’ve been doing it for 20-plus years. It can get stale, if you’re not careful.”
