Steve Carrell Reveals Why He “Will Not Be” in New Series Set in The Office Universe
The camera crew is transferring from Scranton to Toledo.
The Paper, a new series set in the same universe as The Office, is coming to Peacock in September, as NBCUniversal announced at their May 12 Upfront presentation in New York City. The show will follow the same mockumentary style, however instead of following around employees of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, this time the cameras are on The Truth Teller, a historic Midwestern newspaper that an eager publisher is working to revive.
The series will star Domhnall Gleeson as the publisher, as well as Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young and Tim Key. But the series will feature one familiar face as Office actor Oscar Nuñez will reprise his role as Oscar Martinez.
While the camera crew behind the iconic Office documentary-style interviews was not featured in the original series until the final season, The Paper will highlight the crew as they search for their next subject, which will be the Toledo-based newspaper.
Several guest stars have also been announced, including Eric Rahill, Duane Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Mo Welch, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim, and Tracy Letts.
