Alex Cooper is giving back to fellow moms-to-be.
The pregnant Call Her Daddy podcast host, 31, is teaming up with Babylist to clear baby registries for many expecting moms.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Cooper, who’s expecting her first baby with husband Matt Kaplan, says the partnership was inspired by her own pregnancy experience. The podcaster says becoming pregnant brought something “so new” to her, adding that she quickly realized how much expectant parents have to figure out.
“This is all so new to me, and I’ve realized pretty quickly how much there is to figure out. That’s what sent me straight to the community,” she says of her online community, whom she affectionately calls the “Daddy Gang.”
“For weeks, I’ve been relying on them for everything, from which pregnancy pillow actually works, to cravings, to all the things no one warns you about. I wanted the kind of honest, real advice you only get from people who’ve actually been through it, and they showed up for me in such a huge way,” Cooper adds. “Then, as I started researching products and looking through registries, I realized just how expensive preparing for a baby can be.”

While doing some parenting research online, the soon-to-be mom came across one of her followers’ registries, kicking off the partnership idea.
“I cleared one expecting mom’s registry, someone from the community who had shared some amazing advice with me, as a small way of giving back. Then I did another, and another, and it became kind of contagious,” she explains. “That’s really where this partnership came from.”
“The community had already created this incredible cycle of people helping each other, and Babylist immediately understood how much bigger that could become,” she continues. “They know this world inside and out, and they have the platform and reach to help us take what started organically with the Daddy Gang and turn it into something that can support so many more expecting and new parents. That’s what I’m most excited about.”
Echoing her sentiments, incoming CEO of Babylist Jennifer Hyman shares that the partnership is something that “makes so much sense.”
“Alex Cooper is the voice that a generation of women are turning to. She taught us how to talk openly about sex and dating, take our own health seriously, and never settle for less than we deserve. She has been at the top of Babylist’s partnership list for a long time,” Hyman says. “Alex and Babylist have two things in common: they have built a passionate community and they have earned the trust of this community.”
“When Alex opened up about how deeply she’d thought through the decision to become a mom, it felt like the most natural next chapter of that same honesty — exactly why we knew Babylist and Alex needed to build something together,” she continues. “This is why this partnership between Alex and Babylist makes so much sense: it’s bringing together two platforms with a shared purpose of spreading knowledge and creating a space at life’s most important changes.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Cooper shares that the one thing that has surprised her during her pregnancy is how much the “real experience” isn’t talked about. This also pushed her to want to give back to her online community and help where she can.
“What’s surprised me most is how much of the real experience still doesn’t get talked about. There’s so much focus on the exciting milestones, but there’s also a huge learning curve, a lot of uncertainty, and a very real financial side to preparing for a baby,” she explains. “And everyone’s experience is completely different.”
“Going through it myself has made me realize how valuable it is when people are honest about what they’re navigating and share what’s actually helped them,” Cooper adds. “It’s made me want to use my platform to make more room for those conversations and, where we can, find tangible ways to support other parents along the way.”
Cooper first announced her pregnancy on Instagram on May 17. “Our family 🤍,” she wrote alongside two photographs of herself and her husband.
