A bride’s younger sister feels lost in a haze of post-wedding confusion.
The 21-year-old woman explained on Reddit’s “Am I the A——?” forum that she’s bewildered why her 27-year-old sister, who recently got married, is so upset about something that was missing from her wedding attire.
“I didn’t wear earrings,” the younger sibling wrote. “There was no special reason — sometimes I wear them and sometimes I don’t.”
“Weeks later, my sister asked me if I was upset with her, and I said no. She asked if I’m sad she got married, and I said no. She asked why I looked that way at her wedding,” she recalled of the awkward encounter.
Confused, the woman asked her newly married sister what was wrong.
“She said I wasn’t wearing earrings, and how women look unprofessional without earrings,” the 21-year-old said. “She actually said unprofessional, I remember because it seemed like an odd thing to say.”
“I said, ‘I’m sorry,’ but I didn’t realize it was such a big deal. She asked if her wedding isn’t a big deal, and I told her that wasn’t what I meant,” the sibling continued. “Since then, she seemed really annoyed with me.”

Wondering if she’s in the wrong, the younger sister asked the Reddit forum, “Did I violate some big social convention? Am I the a——?”
“Oh dear, you have just met Bridezilla,” one reader replied, while another responded, “Your sister is insane.”
A third Reddit user suggested, “I would just ignore it because she’s the one trying to create an issue out of nothing.”
