Being a mom won’t stop Brittany Cartwright from wearing what she wants.
“I love being a mom more than anything in my life,” Cartwright, 36, shared in an interview with The Cut published Thursday, April 17. “But just because I’m going through a divorce, that doesn’t mean I can’t get dressed up and feel sexy every now and then.”
After welcoming her son, Cruz, in April 2021 with ex Jax Taylor, The Valley star said she experienced changes in her body, which in turn affected her fashion choices.
“It can be hard to dress for my body sometimes because my breasts have gotten even bigger after having my son, but I don’t care what anyone else thinks,” she shared. “If something catches my eye, I’m in.”

Vanderpump Rules alums Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor have been documenting their son Cruz’s milestones since welcoming him in April 2021. “I mean, just feeling them inside you is so amazing,” Cartwright exclusively told Us Weekly about pregnancy in June 2023. “It’s the most incredible feeling in the world. Like, you’re growing a human being. […]
Just because she doesn’t care what people say doesn’t mean she can’t see the comments people make online.
As she continues to document her life for reality TV cameras, Cartwright explained that people are quick to comment on looks and appearance — even if they don’t technically know her.
“People are always like, ‘Why are you wearing a low-cut shirt? You’re a mother,’” she said. “Yes, I’m a mother, but I am 36 years old. I feel like I should be able to express my sexuality however I want to, and there’s nothing wrong with that.”
Besides, Cartwright makes it clear that she’s not doing anything outrageous — like publicly walking around naked.
“Just because you’re a mom you’re not supposed to let your cleavage show, like, what the heck?” she asked. “I just want to feel good. Getting dressed up makes me feel better about myself, and me being happy now makes me a better mom.”
Earlier this month, Cartwright revealed Cruz, 3, was diagnosed with a form of autism.
The Bravo star told Us that she decided to publicly share her son’s diagnosis in hopes that it gives her a chance to “help other families that are going through something like this that maybe don’t know where to begin.”
(An estimated one in 36 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network.)
“I wouldn’t change a thing about him,” she continued. “He is the most amazing, special little boy. He is mostly nonverbal right now, but he still [says] things like ‘Mommy’ all the time. He was saying ‘Mommy’ today … he is just so perfect.”
The Valley airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET. Stream old episodes anytime on Peacock.
