Brooke Shields is setting a model example on how to handle naysayers with grace.

The supermodel’s confidence shone in a new TikTok video posted by her 20-year-old daughter Grier, who asked her mom to respond to her “bully”-like insults while participating in a viral video trend on the app.

With Grier making fun of her appearance, Shields, 61, had no problem firing back with her own clapbacks.

Grier began the video by saying, “You have a lot of gray hairs,” to which Shields responded, “It’s a sign of maturity.” When Shields was hit with a joking comment about her wrinkles, she replied, “I’m worried about the world because it’s [inhabited] by people like you” — the “you” being her hypothetical bully.

When Grier fired shots at the model’s personality, it was Shields who replied coolly, “Well, I’m really famous so seems to have worked out okay for me” and “my career has lasted over 60 years so doing something right.”

Shields shares Grier and oldest daughter Rowan, 23, with husband Chris Henchy. In previous interviews, she’s talked about the close bond she and her children have, as well as parenting her now-young adults.

Appearing on Today with Jenna & Friends in March 2025, the Blue Lagoon star opened up about a revelation she had when Grier became “impatient” with her for not knowing who her college friends were and being exactly up to date with her life.

“I was like, ‘For your whole life, I’ve told you what to do, what to eat, when to eat, what not to eat, clothing, who are your friends,’” Shields recalled sharing. “I said, ‘Now I’m meeting you, so you have got to give me a bit of a grace period so that I can get to know you as this young adult.’”

“And she was like, ‘Oh, okay.’ I was like, ‘So don’t get mad at me. Let’s just reintroduce ourselves to each other because I’m getting to know you,’” she added.

Still, they’re celebrating milestones together. When Shields turned 60 last May, Rowan celebrated “everyone’s favorite girl boss” with a sweet message on social media that read, “Happy birthday to my role model, partner in crime, and best friend. Thank you for always being my rock.”
