Comedian Carrot Top has been hospitalized and is recovering, according to his representative.
“Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs,” a rep for the comedian, born Scott Christopher Thompson, told PEOPLE on Friday, Sept. 18.
“His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy,” the rep added.

PEOPLE has reached out to the Luxor, where Carrot Top was scheduled to perform in the Atrium Showroom on Friday. The show appears to have been canceled across numerous ticketing sites, including Ticketmaster.

Known for his physical comedy and signature red hair, Carrot Top has held a long-running residency at the Luxor since 2005.
According to his bio on Ticketmaster, he notably performed his first stand-up show at an open mic night while attending Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla.
He went on to work as an announcer for Cartoon Network in the mid-‘90s, and made a number of appearances across popular TV shows in the early aughts and 2010s, including spots on Family Guy and Glee.
The comedian more recently made a cameo appearance on Hacks opposite Jean Smart in 2024. The hit show followed the fictional comic Deborah Vance (Smart) as she reclaims her act in Las Vegas.
