Travis is returning for a 14th NFL season after speculation that he would retire
Donna Kelce isn't mincing words about the work that her son Travis Kelce puts in to prepare for his 14th NFL season.
As the 36-year-old gets ready for another year of tackles and end zone runs, his mom tells PEOPLE the process is "brutal."
“He always goes into his own routine with training, and it's brutal,” Donna, 73, says, while discussing her partnership with GameChanger.
“Then he goes to actual training camp. He has to get ready before he goes to training camp. It's a long process. It's months to get ready. That's what he's doing right now.”

Travis' return to the Chiefs came after a lackluster season for the team and speculation that he would retire. In January, he said he'd only return to the league under certain circumstances.
“At the same time, if my body can heal up and rest up and I can feel confident that I can go out there and give it another 18, 20, 21-week run, I think, I would do it in a heartbeat," he told his brother Jason Kelce during a January episode of his New Heights podcast. Two months later, he officially signed a one-year deal for $12 million.
Following the three-time Super Bowl winner's official announcement, Charissa Thompson told PEOPLE that the NFL is simply “better” with Travis Kelce on the field.

“Was I surprised by it? No. I'm hopeful. I mean, the NFL is better when Travis is on the field,” the 44-year-old Fox Sports caster said earlier in May.
“And just being able to cover Travis, for now, the better part of almost two decades, it's been exciting and I just love having him on the field and being able to watch him play and leave on his own terms,” Thompson says.
