  • Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut is back nationwide for a limited time in Classic and Zero Sugar varieties
  • Fans have been calling for its return, with over 6.3 million engagements about the flavor earlier this year
  • The soda combines Dr Pepper’s 23 flavors with tropical coconut notes

Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut has made its long-awaited return.

The brand said fans had been asking for it to come back for the past two years, in a release shared with PEOPLE.

“From January–March 2026 alone, Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut sparked nearly 5,000 social mentions and 6.3M+ engagements — with 97% of the conversation calling for its return or urging Dr Pepper to make it permanent,” Dr Pepper said in a statement.

The sweet beverage is now on shelves nationwide for a limited time, from April 13 through July 31, in 12-oz cans, in both Classic and Zero Sugar varieties.

Fans can find the product at major retailers, such as Amazon, Kroger, Target and Walmart.

The brand says the drink takes the 23 flavors Dr Pepper is known for and adds “a refreshing, summery coconut taste for a smooth, creamy indulgence.”

PEOPLE got a taste of the soda ahead of its original May 2024 release.

While some testers worried there would be an overbearing coconut flavor, they found both versions to have a nice balance of the tropical coconut notes and the classic soda’s taste.

While the coconut soda didn’t actually appear creamy, and retained the dark cola color of the original, the taste was reminiscent of a virgin piña colada.

Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut Zero Sugar had a slightly more artificial coconut bite than the full-sugar version, but still brought the fruity flavor.

Fans of the soda wanting to try Dr Pepper in other forms have been in luck this year.

In February, the brand announced it was joining forced with Tic Tacs for Tic Tac Dr Pepper Mints. The treats pack the drink’s 23-flavor blend in the candy’s classic shape.

The same month, Johnsonville announced the first-of-its-kind Dr Pepper-inspired sausage, which pulls from the soda's 23-flavor blend to give its savory sausages a "nuanced, sweet and salty — or swalty — finish."
