Elementary School Janitor, 27, Gets 8 Years After Admitting He Filmed Himself Putting Bodily Fluids and Waste in Kids’ Food

A former elementary school janitor from New Jersey was sentenced to eight years in prison after he admitted to putting his own bodily fluids and waste into the food served to children.

Giovanni Impellizzeri, 27, entered a guilty plea to charges of second-degree official misconduct and third-degree possession of child sexual abuse material back in January after making a deal with prosecutors, who dropped charges of aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child and tampering with food products.

The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release that Impellizzeri will have to serve five years of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.

The New Jersey State Police opened an investigation into Impellizzeri on Oct. 30, 2023 after school authorities notified them about reports coming in from parents regarding “alarming” videos of Impellizzeri on the encrypted app Telegram.

One individual reported seeing videos of Impellizzeri posted on the app which, according to the affidavit, showed him “performing sexual acts with items from the school as well as doing things that would endanger the well-being of the students at the school.”

In one of those videos, Impellizzeri could be seen “masturbating and urinating on pillows and kitchen bowls,” the affidavit reads.

Another video showed the janitor “spraying bleach into a container of cucumbers that was later served to children at the school, with the intention of harming the students,” according to the affidavit.

He even used “multiple pieces of bread to wipe his genitals as well as spitting on the bread before putting the bread back into the container to be later served to children at the school” in one video, according to the affidavit.

Police were able to confirm the videos were taken during the time that Impellizzeri was an employee of the Upper Deerfield Township school district, and also found items identical to or matching the ones seen in the videos at the elementary school.

The following day, police arrested Impellizzeri, and the Cumberland County Department of Health came in to ensure all items in the school kitchen were properly sanitized for the children.

During the course of their ongoing investigation, police also discovered that the defendant was in possession of child sexual abuse materials, and added that offense to his list of charges.

Impellizzeri admitted to his crimes in January while entering his plea, and in court on Friday apologized to his victims.
