According to Felicity Huffman, she and husband William H. Macy have different feelings about their daughter, Sophia Macy, pursuing a career as an actress.
Huffman, 63, caught up with PEOPLE exclusively on the red carpet during a Sony Pictures Television FYC event in Los Angeles on May 6.
During the event, the Doc alum revealed that while she has some fears about Sophia getting into the family business, William, 76, is all for it.

“My husband has no trepidation about it,” Huffman told PEOPLE. “He's like, ‘I love this business. I love actors. I love everybody in it.' ”
“I do have fear for her,” she added, however. “It is a tough business. But it's what she loves, and I gotta say she's really good.”
As to whether the Transamerica star would ever consider working onscreen with her daughter?
“I don't know. Depends on whether she puts us in her next project,” Huffman told PEOPLE.
Sophia, 25, studied theater at Carnegie Mellon University, and she made her television debut in Jordan Peele's CBS show The Twilight Zone in 2020.

"I'm so so grateful," Sophia wrote on Instagram about her role in the series at the time. She also called the experience "an absolute pleasure" in a separate post.

Most recently, Sophia appeared as the character Ronni in the HBO show Rooster, also starring Steve Carell.
Back in 2024, proud dad William told E! News he was excited Sophia was pursuing her passion for acting. "I love this business. I figured if I can do it, anyone can do it," he said.
Huffman and William are also parents to daughter Georgia Grace. However, Georgia, 24, has no interest in getting into the entertainment business.
“My other daughter is going to law school,” Huffman told PEOPLE at the Sony FYC event.

William told Parade magazine in January 2019 of his younger daughter, "She's interested in politics, political science and pursuing that. She's in a very academic school and killing it."
