Ginuwine is a proud father of nine kids!
The singer, who rose to R&B fame in the late ‘90s, shares four children with his ex-wife Solé. The pair began dating in 1999 and later tied the knot in 2003, per Essence. Their blended family included daughters Story Asaundra and Dream Sarae, as well as Solé’s daughters from a previous relationship, De’jan and Cypress. Ginuwine still plays an active role in De’jan and Cypress’ lives, despite his divorce from Solé in 2015.
De’jan, Cypress, Story and Dream are all very close. For Halloween 2022, Ginuwine shared a photo of the girls dressed up as the four Hogwarts houses from the Harry Potter franchise, writing “dad life” in the caption.
In addition to his four children with Solé, Ginuwine has five kids from other relationships. The “In Those Jeans” singer keeps his children out of the public eye, aside from occasional birthday shoutouts on social media.

Ginuwine shares two daughters with his ex-wife Solé
During their 12-year marriage, Ginuwine and Solé welcomed two kids. Their first daughter, Story Asaundra, was born on March 28, 2001, followed by Dream Sarae some time later.
Following their 2015 divorce, Solé married Public Enemy band member Professor Griff in 2017. While at first the two had to adjust to a new relationship, Ginuwine has maintained a friendship with the lecturer, which he candidly opened up about during a December 2024 episode of the Drink Champs podcast.
“As an example, as a parent, as a man, if you have kids, you want to extend that to your kids,” he said. “As grown men, we have to extend that same courtesy to our kids and say, ‘Listen, everything always isn’t going to be perfect or whatever. You might get divorced, you might go through whatever, but this is how you do after that. This is how you make it right. This is the example you set for your kids.’ That’s what I do.”
Of his nine children, daughters Story and Dream make the most cameos on the singer’s Instagram. In May 2023, Ginuwine shared a selfie on Instagram of the father-daughter trio at Disney World. “Had fun with my two shawtys at Disney world this week love y’all to life,” he wrote.
He also has two stepdaughters
Ginuwine is also a stepfather to daughters De’jan and Cypress, both of whom Solé welcomed in a previous relationship.
Although Ginuwine and Solé are no longer together, Ginuwine maintains a very close relationship with both De’jan and Cypress, who make frequent appearances on the singer’s Instagram.
In 2024, the two posed for photos alongside Ginuwine. “Great pics with my daughters love them always supporting @dejan.nicole @cypresssoleil ❤️,” he wrote in the caption.
De’jan launched her own event planning company
After taking up event design as a side hustle, De’jan established her own event planning business called Pink and Posh Events in 2021. She specializes in “curating luxurious and personalized event experiences,” ranging from weddings and corporate events to birthdays and baby showers.
“My journey with Pink and Posh Events began with my passion for creativity and design. I started by decorating small gatherings for friends and family, using my eye for detail to create beautiful and memorable experiences,” she said in an October 2024 interview with Voyage Baltimore.
Based in the DC metro area (DMV), Pink and Posh Events is also known for its floral styling, extravagant tablescapes, custom signage and balloon installations.
Cypress is a mom and entrepreneur
Cypress welcomed her daughter, Sage, on May 17, 2020.
Sage has a special bond with her “G-Paw.” In October 2024, she joined Ginuwine onstage during an outdoor concert in front of a packed crowd. Cypress captured the sweet moment on Instagram, writing, “Memories that will last a lifetime 🤍 y’all know Sage loves the stage and she loves her G-Paw!”
In addition to raising her daughter, Cypress is also a proud business owner. She launched her own herbal-infused hair and skincare line called Cypress Soleil Naturals in 2018.
Story and Dream both followed in their parents’ creative footsteps
Both Story and Dream have pursued their passions in the arts. Story has shared a number of videos of her dancing on Instagram, including when she performed alongside her father at Essence Fest in 2024.
“Wow….5 years since I’ve been on stage and I got to do it at Essence in a stadium with my dad for my favorite group. I feel so blessed to have this opportunity & forever grateful!🥹,” she wrote on Instagram alongside videos of her performance.
Meanwhile, Dream also seems to have a talent for music, playing guitar alongside her parents at Essence Fest in 2019. In 2024, she produced a song for 4batz.
Most of Ginuwine’s children live out of the spotlight
In addition to De’jan, Cypress, Story and Dream, Ginuwine has five children from other relationships. Most of the singer’s kids stay away from the spotlight; however, Ginuwine has shared snaps of daughters Santana and Ginel and his son Aye Yo El on Instagram.
“My son what can I say another year another pleasant moment in a fathers life to say he is so glad to have you as my son love you youngen,” Ginuwine wrote on Instagram for his first son’s birthday in January 2024. “proud of the man you have become it only gets better from here stay focused stay loving stay positive and most of all stay the best father you can be.”
