Henry Winkler says he is still finding joy in every new role, and every new collaborator.
In a new interview with USA Today, the 80-year-old actor reflected on the performers who continue to inspire him and the roles he wants to play in the future.
“I don't have a vision of a character I want to play, except that one day I would like to play a character who has to communicate with everything except his voice,” Winkler shared, per USA Today. “But I'm loving (my current roles).”

Instead of chasing specific parts, Winkler told the outlet he's focused on the experience itself, something that's led to a string of memorable collaborations.
“I did a scene in a movie about rappers with Owen Wilson. I played his boss,” he said, referencing the Wedding Crashers star.
But it was a recent moment on set with Mary Steenburgen that truly stood out.
“I just did a scene last week with Mary Steenbergen," Winkler told USA Today. “That was like walking on clouds. I've never really worked with her before. We've known each other for 40 or 50 years. It was like magic.”
Steenburgen, 73, an Oscar-winning actress known for early work in 1980s Melvin and Howard and beloved films like Parenthood, has long been part of the same Hollywood circles as Winkler, making their on-screen pairing decades in the making.
Elsewhere in his interview, Winkler expressed gratitude for his lengthy career, saying, "I was 8 years old, lying in my bed in Manhattan, dreaming about being an actor, not even sure why. I'm sitting here with you. I am 80. I'm still at the table. And I'm telling you, I define gratitude."

Winkler rose to fame as Arthur Fonzarelli on Happy Days, which ran from 1974 to 1984 and also starred Ron Howard, Anson Williams, Marion Ross, Tom Bosley, Don Most and Erin Moran.
