I’m rough on a work tote, but in my defense, they should be able to stand up to a lot. Plus, they need to be spacious without feeling bulky, sturdy enough for commutes, and comfortable to carry. Is my must-have list long? Sure, but I think I’ve finally found a bag that can do it all.
The new fall colors of the Vivienne Work Tote from Quince caught my eye, and the fact that it looks like a designer style worn by Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Garner, and Hilary Duff doesn’t hurt — nor does the fact that it’s 96 percent cheaper.

My favorite thing about the tote is the way it manages to hold and organize all the essentials but doesn’t look cumbersome. The design has structure that keeps it from appearing slouchy or overstuffed, and it fits under the shoulder. The central zipper compartment is padded and large enough to fit a laptop, and on either side there are additional slots for planners and notebooks, as well as more zippered spaces to keep keys, AirPods, and a wallet safe. And the entire bag is secured with a magnetic closure that prevents spills.

I also love that this Quince tote is made of durable leather that won’t get banged up or scratched during commutes and flights. That doesn’t mean it’s uncomfortable to wear, though. Shoppers called the material “buttery soft,” and the long handles are sturdy, so they won’t flop off your shoulder. When it inevitably gets dirty, the material is easy to clean with a dry cloth or leather cream. There’s also a 100 percent cotton lining to prevent electronics, glasses, and other fragile items from getting scratched, and the bottom of the bag has metal feet to keep it off the ground.
As a bonus, the tote has stellar reviews attesting to its functionality and design. One person praised its versatility, explaining that they can go “from daycare to dinner” because it holds all the necessities, and another shopper called it a “soft but sturdy” option that has become their daily bag. Plus, it’s a dream for keeping things in place, with a reviewer calling it a “big help keeping me organized.”
If, like me, you’re in need of a dependable new work tote that’ll still look great, pick up the Vivienne, and keep scrolling to see other styles at Quince.
