Halley Kate is shutting down incorrect assumptions about her body.
On Wednesday, May 6, the 26-year-old influencer posted a series of Instagram Stories to address a comment she received on a recent video. In response to the social media user wondering if she underwent a breast augmentation, Kate referred to her autoimmune condition, which she said caused some physical changes after a flare-up months ago.
The New York-based content creator posted a photo of herself in a bikini and wrote in overlaying text, "Lost like 20 pounds from my autoimmune this summer," adding, "If i got a boob job they would NOT fluctuate like that."

She followed with a mirror selfie of herself in workout attire and explained that she "quite literally just gained weight back" after her health issue. Referring to her appearance in the picture, she noted, "Also this is a sports bra that makes everything sit better."
In September 2025, Kate posted several videos from her multi-day stay in the hospital, which she described as "really, really traumatizing." She later revealed that she has ulcerative colitis, though she asked her followers to respect her wish not to disclose many of the details of the illness and her flare-up.
Beyond the lasting impact of her medical condition, Kate also referred to another natural body change she says she experienced a couple years ago as she addressed rumors about her getting a boob job. "I went through a second puberty at like 24," she noted in her recent Instagram Stories post.
According to Healthline, the concept of a "second puberty" is not a real phenomenon, but the term does refer to a normal hormonal shift some women experience after adolescence.

Kate has previously addressed speculation about whether or not she underwent a breast enhancement in the past, and she's also made prior reference to the changes she noticed two years ago.
"It's literally the way that I've been heavily debating getting a boob job for over a year," Kate said in a June 2024 video replying to a comment asking about plastic surgery. "In the last two months, my boobs have more than doubled in size … I swear to god, my body heard me saying I was gonna get a boob job. It didn't wanna go through the surgery."
