Influencer Sparks Debate About Whether She and Son Should Sit in 1st Class Without Paying

Parenting influencer Aniella Rose sparked some seriously intense online debate after admitting to sneaking her toddler on board the first class section of a train without paying for it.

Rose shared a TikTok vlog with her 128,000 followers on Tuesday, May 7, showing her and her young son slipping into the luxury section during a recent trip.

In the clip, Rose argued that she’d only sat in the first class section as “a last resort” because she couldn’t find seating anywhere else. Rose recounted experiencing “anxiety” as she loaded her luggage onto the train, before noticing that the first class section was nearby.

“First class was right in front of me with a huge luggage area. How could I say no?” she quipped in her vlog.

The TikTok star recalled that she “did, of course, feel guilty” for deceiving the train staff, including admitting to lying to an attendant who directly asked if she’d paid for her seat. However, Rose insisted she felt better about her deception when the train experienced a one-hour delay.

“I was worried about [my son’s] behavior the whole time. A lot more than I would be in the usual area. But, It was a really funny experience,” she said, before asking her followers. “Do you think it’s fair to use first class if there’s no room and you’re in desperate need of a place to sit?”

From being kicked off of flights to harrowing altercations on board, stars aren’t always flying the friendly skies. Her vlog sparked intense debate in the video’s comments section, with some excusing Rose’s behavior since she filmed several empty first class seats nearby.

“Unless you’re actively taking the seat of someone who’s paid for it i really don’t think it matters,” one viewer wrote.

Another commenter agreed, “I think it’s fair especially when you have a toddler because it helps you manage much better.”

The majority of commenters on Rose’s vlog were far more critical, with one person calling her behavior “bang out of order” and another accusing her of “absolute entitlement.”

“This is ragebait right?” one user asked, while another replied, “I mean this so respectfully, but with the price of first class tickets now, I’d have been fuming had I paid that out only to watch someone come in and sit there for free.”

“You can be taken [to] court in retrospect,” one commenter warned.

Even beyond her upgraded seat, some felt that Rose was especially disrespectful for allowing her son to climb all over his row’s tray table without his shoes on.

“Just do not have your child climb on the table 🤣 people eat there, it’s not for feet,” another viewer advised her.

In the end, Rose justified her choice by insisting “using first class as a last resort is pretty valid,” even without paying. Rose’s sneaky first class train ride may seem relatively minor when compared to other recent influencer controversies.

And there are controversial parenting influencers, Matt and Abby Howard, who were criticized in September 2024 for leaving their young sons Griffin, 2, and August, 12 months, asleep alone in their room so they could have a dinner date on board a cruise ship.
