It's a moment Jalen Brunson will never forget.

Shortly after his New York Knicks clinched their first championship in 53 years on Saturday, June 13, with a thrilling 94-90 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, Brunson was reduced to tears as he digested the scene unfolding inside the Frost Bank Center in Texas.

"I got no words," an emotional Brunson, 29, said in a postgame interview on the ABC broadcast. "Everything I've ever dreamed of. "

When asked what he was feeling, Brunson responded, "I don't know what I'm feeling. I'm just like, I'm in awe, I don't know. Whenever someone counted us out, we found a way to come back and do something about it."

Brunson, who joined the Knicks in 2022 after beginning his NBA career with the Dallas Mavericks in 2018, also shared an emotional embrace with his dad, Knicks assistant coach Rick Brunson.

Brunson dropped a whopping 45 points against the Spurs on Saturday en route to the title of NBA Finals MVP.

The Knicks stormed back in the second half after trailing the Spurs at halftime, 42-37.

The team had the support of their celebrity fanbase throughout the best-of-seven series, with the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Tracy Morgan, Spike Lee, John Turturro, Sydney Sweeney and Ben Stiller traveling to San Antonio on Saturday in the hopes the Knicks could close things out.
