Jason Kelce Calls His Weight Loss ‘Depressing’ Now That He Can No Longer Do This

NEED TO KNOW

  • The Kelce brothers joked on their podcast “New Heights” about one negative consequence of Jason’s recent weight loss
  • The former Philadelphia Eagles center, who retired in 2024, said he wanted to get down to about 250 lbs.
  • The comments came after Jason put on a newly designed University of Cincinnati football jersey bearing his old number

Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce are laughing off a surprising consequence of Jason’s recent weight loss.

The exchange occurred on the Wednesday, July 2 episode of their New Heights podcast, where the two have often discussed Jason’s health goals. After retiring from his 13-year NFL career, the former Philadelphia Eagles center announced he was trying to lose weight. He said he wanted to get down to about 250 lbs. from 300 lbs. when he was an offensive lineman, PEOPLE previously reported.

During the new podcast episode, Jason slipped on a newly designed jersey for the University of Cincinnati, where he played in college. His jersey was No. 60.

“You’re going to squeeze in this thing? This is what happens when…you lose a little weight, guys. You can start squeezing into things a lot easier,” Travis said, referring his brother’s college jersey.

“How do I look?” Jason asked.

“Dude, you got so thin that number 60 doesn’t look good on you anymore,” Travis jokingly responded. (Jason later wore number 62 while playing for the Eagles.)

“I know,” Jason said as Travis interjected, “That’s how thin you got.”

“I look like a long snapper now,” Jason responded, referring to a center who throws the ball for field goal attempts and punts.

“Do I go back to number 48, my linebacker numbers? Would that look better? That would even look more like a long snapper. 48’s a long snapper number,” Jason added.

“I think 40s are probably where you — right now,” Travis said as Jason asked “Where I would sit?,” as the brothers broke into grins.

“Yeah, somewhere in the 40s,” Travis said with a laugh.

“So depressing,” Jason said.
