The ‘Full House’ star continued a cheeky birthday tradition one year after stripping down for another memorable thirst trap

John Stamos knows how to nail a birthday selfie.
The Full House star shared a steamy black-and-white mirror snap on Instagram on Wednesday, Aug. 19, as he celebrated his 63rd birthday. The actor obscured his face with his phone in the monochrome selfie, in which he shows off his abdomen, arms and long hair.
Stamos let the image, which cuts off just below his stomach, do all of the talking, simply captioning the post, “63.” He did, however, share several more posts highlighting birthday wishes from loved ones on Instagram Stories.
One repost was from Stamos’ friend and Full House costar Dave Coulier, who shared a shot of the duo soundtracked to Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday.” Another was a tribute from Jimmy Fallon.
Others were from admirers of his work, including a fan-made cake with a throwback photo of Stamos surrounded by an iced birthday message.

He also shared another post from a fan, musician Neil Morrow, who recreated the actor’s birthday mirror selfie and shared the pictures side by side. “In honor of @johnstamos 63rd Birthday, show us what you got, America!!!!” Morrow wrote alongside his recreation. “Do the Stamos!!! Happy Birthday, John!!”
Stamos’ wife, Caitlin McHugh Stamos, also shared a birthday tribute dedicated to the actor, in which she described him as “one of earth’s best humans” — and revealed what they did to celebrate.
“This guy didn’t want a birthday celebration this year, so we’re doing multiple days celebrating!” McHugh Stamos, 40, wrote alongside an Instagram video of the first birthday activity: a visit to Cosm Los Angeles to see the venue’s “Shared Reality” Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory experience.
“Started with Willy Wonka at @cosm, continuing today and beyond!” McHugh Stamos continued in the caption. “How could we not celebrate the birth of one of earth’s best humans!”
The latest posts from Stamos and his wife — who share an 8-year-old son, Billy — come shortly after they both shared PEOPLE’s cover reveal for Stamos’ debut picture book, Love from Above: A Story of Tiny Birds and Their Big Meaning, which is also the father-son duo’s first-ever collaboration.
Stamos’ birthday selfie also comes one year after the Scream Queens alum marked his 62nd trip around the sun with a similarly steamy thirst trap — making the shirtless snaps a bit of an annual tradition for the actor.

In the birthday snap shared in August 2025, Stamos stripped down to just a pair of all-black Calvin Klein briefs while rinsing off on the rooftop of New York City’s Bowery Hotel. At the time, he also marked the special day with a reflective message — and did not skip out on the shower puns.
“A rooftop birthday shower in NYC to start the day, and the love of family and friends to carry me through,” he wrote in the caption. “At 62, I’ve learned the best things in life can’t be washed away…laughter, love, and gratitude.”
“Thank you for every wish and every year,” he concluded the post. “I don’t take a single drop for granted.”
