Kate Middleton and Prince William made sure their entire family was included in their 15th anniversary celebration.
On April 29, the Prince and Princess of Wales released a new image with their three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 8, to commemorate their wedding anniversary. "Celebrating 15 years of marriage ❤️," the snap was captioned on social media.
In addition to featuring the couple's kids, the newly released image also featured two other beloved family members: their dogs!
Both pups took spots next to Prince William, who appears to stroke their black cocker spaniel, Orla. Next to the royal heir's head is a brown cocker spaniel puppy, whose name has not been shared publicly.
The anniversary photo marks the Prince and Princess of Wales' first family portrait featuring both dogs.
While it was the new puppy's first time appearing in a full family photo, it's likely that the royal family's social media followers got a previous peek at the new addition.
When the Prince of Wales turned 43 last June 21, a new photo was released of him holding a brown puppy in his lap as three other dogs — two puppies and a black spaniel — played around him. "Happy birthday! Love C, G, C, L, Orla and the puppies! 🐾," read the caption.
In May 2025, The Sun reported that Orla, who has been part of William and Kate's family since 2020, had welcomed a litter of puppies. The Daily Mail further reported that welcoming the puppies was "something fun" for George, Charlotte and Louis, and the outlet reported that the family was planning on keeping one of the dogs.
Following the speculation that the family had expanded with another pup, Princess Kate, 44, confirmed they had gotten another dog during a royal outing in February.
“She had a rather long chat with my fiancée about our dog, about how she also has cocker spaniels and that hers is the same age as ours," Hiut CEO Johann Von Loeper told PEOPLE when the princess visited the Hiut Denim factory in Wales, where the royal was especially charmed by a cocker spaniel named Barney. "It was a nice moment that broke the ice."
As she marveled over Barney, Princess Kate was asked about how old her family's dogs are and said, "So we've got a little puppy, he's only 8 months, and Orla's 5."

Orla is the second dog that William and Kate have owned as a couple, and they received the cocker spaniel from her brother, James Middleton, who breeds dogs.
Princess Kate previously brought Orla along to a polo match Prince William participated in in 2022, and the dog has also joined Princess Charlotte's birthday portraits.
Orla joined the family shortly before the death of William and Kate's first dog Lupo, who was another black cocker spaniel from James. James, 39, wrote in his 2024 memoir, Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life, that Lupo was a "belated wedding present" for his sister and brother-in-law, who wed on April 29, 2011.
