As a fashion writer, I’m always looking to celebrities for inspiration — both for my own outfits and for readers’. Whether it’s a popular pattern, a bold new silhouette, or a once-dated piece that’s suddenly hot again (looking at you, ballet flats), there’s plenty to draw from. So when I recently spotted both Katie Holmes and Gwyneth Paltrow wearing an unlikely color combo, I took note.
