“Causing you pain and being the reason you suffered will haunt me for the rest of my life … I am sorry,” Kelley said while addressing Scott and their three kids

Kelley Wolf opened up about her struggles with mental health in an 11-part Instagram post, sharing that she at one point believed she was “in the CIA” and was “running for President.”
Wolf, 49, addressed those struggles and apologized to her ex, actor Scott Wolf, their three kids, family, friends and community in Utah in the candid Instagram post shared on Friday, Aug. 28.
“Wow … I have taken about 100 deep breaths to write this. How do I even start,” she began the 11-part carousel. “It’s been a year since I recognized what everyone around me could see: I was not well, and I needed help.”
She continued, “I felt like my brain had been hijacked, and the world was moving at the speed of a freight train. It turns out that is exactly what happened, but I didn’t know it.”
The executive coach and author went on to say that she was “completely delusional” for a time and has spent the past year “working with incredible doctors, therapists, psychologists, and healers.”
She said that she has since learned that she had experienced “breakthrough drug-induced mania with psychosis,” which she claimed was brought on by “a perfect storm” of “stress, past trauma, hormonal shifts, and hallucinogens mixed with prescribed medications.”
Kelley said that not only did the condition cause her to do and say “cruel” and “vicious” things to those she loves most, but it also resulted in “grand and delusional ideas.”
She explained, “I think one of mine was that I was in the CIA and that I was running for President!”
Kelley also directly addressed her husband, Scott, 58, and their three children, Jackson, 17, Miller, 13, and Lucy Marie, 12.

“I am so sorry. My husband of twenty years was taken through a nightmare that wouldn’t even fly in a movie script; it was so brutal,” Kelley said in slide four. “The things I did, said, wrote, and posted caused profound harm and were not based in truth or reality. And they caused pain 1 could never imagine to the people I love the most.”
Later, in slide eight, she continued addressing her family, writing, “Causing you pain and being the reason you suffered will haunt me for the rest of my life. It was my job to protect you, honor you, and keep you safe, and I became the cause of your heartbreak. I am sorry.”

“You never gave up on me, and you fought like hell until you landed me in safe harbor. I owe you my life. I will work hard to use this life to leave it better, to pay it forward, and to never give up on the power of love,” Kelley added.
The former reality star, who appeared on season 9 of The Real World — The Real World: New Orleans — went on to apologize to her community in Park City, Utah, where she said her family has lived for 20 years.

“Thank you for loving our family and continuing to prove why this is a place where we found the meaning of home,” she wrote.
Kelley was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold in Utah in June 2025 following reports that she had been behaving erratically. The incident came three days after Scott announced he had filed for divorce.
Scott filed for a restraining order against Kelley on June 25, 2025. He later withdrew that petition in July after the pair reached a temporary agreement granting him sole temporary custody of their three children.

In August 2025, Kelley was arrested on suspicion of electronic communication harassment and electronic disclosure of personal identifying information at a home she was renting in Summit County, Utah. The arrest followed days of allegedly confrontational social media posts, including posts that shared Scott’s personal contact information.
Upon her release from jail, Kelley was barred from direct or indirect contact with Scott or the couple’s children and ordered to remain at least 300 feet away from him.
Sources told PEOPLE that Kelley was admitted to a Utah mental health hospital for a second time on Sept. 21, 2025, after allegedly making threats toward herself and Scott.
In mid-October, Kelley was transferred from the Utah-based hospital to a different mental health facility in the area to continue the remainder of her stay.
In February 2026, Kelley and Scott were spotted with their kids at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.
“We are healing,” Scott told PEOPLE exclusively at the time.
