When we find something we love, we want to buy it in every color. So when our shopping team spotted Quince’s latest designer-looking bag in two new summery shades, we collectively added it to our carts.
The brand debuted a work tote in April that looks nearly identical to The Row’s sold-out Margaux bag, which has been carried by countless celebrities, including Kendall Jenner, Hilary Duff, Jennifer Lawrence, and Jennifer Garner. But at $4,700, the designer version is not exactly budget-friendly, so it’s no surprise the Quince lookalike is already out of stock. Luckily, we found another similar-looking alternative that’s now available in navy blue and ivory — ideal for pairing with summer outfits.

The timeless style can be worn virtually anywhere, as proven by celebs. Jenner served a masterclass in airport style when she paired a gold Margaux with comfy black pants, a scarf, a T-shirt, and ballet flats. She was also photographed carrying a brown version in 2023, wearing it with a tank top, black jeans, and loafers. Meanwhile, Duff looked effortlessly cool taking the bag to the gym with a matching green set. Further proving its versatility, Garner wore it with a sweater and jeans, while Lawrence styled hers with wide-leg trousers and a trench coat for an office-ready look.
When shopping for a designer bag lookalike, it’s important to pay close attention to quality. After all, it’s simple to replicate an appearance, but building a bag that will withstand daily life, commutes, and travel is a real challenge. Both The Row’s Margaux and Quince’s version are made from high-quality leather and have protective metal feet. Customers have also noticed that the Quince satchel has a soft but structured feel similar to the pricier option.
While the feel and appearance are comparable, The Row’s bag has a single compartment, two card slots, and a single interior pocket, which can make staying organized difficult. On the other hand, Quince’s substitute has one main zippered compartment that’s large enough to fit a 13-inch laptop, plus two side slip pockets with snap closures to keep your cell phone or credit cards within easy reach.
Inside, the lookalike bag is lined with cotton that won’t scratch delicate items like glasses or cosmetic bottles. And while the Margaux has a toggle closure, Quince’s option closes with a zipper for more security while on the go. One fan who bought the bag for a work conference said it’s “light for how much it can hold,” adding that they used it both as a personal item on their flight and every day and had “no dents, nor shoulder pain.”
If you’ve been coveting The Row’s Margaux bag but don’t want to drop thousands of dollars on it or wait for a restock, try the similar Quince alternative, which costs $4,526 less. Ahead, shop more work bags from Quince.
