I’ve tried a ton of skincare products during my years as a shopping writer, but I always return to the nourishing powers of K-beauty.
Medicube skincare is a holy grail in my routine because of its array of soothing, hydrating, and glow-enhancing products. The latest version of Jenner’s tool is the Medicube Booster Pro X2, a seven-in-one skincare device that older sister Kim Kardashian is “obsessed” with, according to a video she shared to Instagram. I’ve been using the new innovation daily for a month and am completely hooked — so much so that I tapped board-certified dermatologist Dr. Shereene Idriss to explain the magic behind its technology.

The Booster Pro X2 is equipped with seven electrical modes and six adjustable intensities to customize your treatments. There’s booster mode to add glow, derma shot mode to contour, air shot mode to refine pores, dual mode to combine two functions at once, and more.
I’ve incorporated the device into my daily routine to focus on lifting and firming my skin, which is why microcurrent mode is my favorite. Dr. Idriss explains, “Unlike electrical muscle stimulation, which creates a stronger muscle contraction, microcurrent uses much lower level electrical currents and is a gentler way to support a more lifted and toned appearance.
I first apply Medicube’s PDRN Pink Peptide Serum then glide the Booster Pro X2 across my face in a gentle upward motion. There’s a slight tingling sensation, so I began on level one and have gradually worked my way up to level three over time. Fellow PEOPLE writer Nicol Natale is also a fan of the device, but her “favorite” is duo mode, which also happens to be Dr. Idriss’ go-to.
